After playing a lot more than when I originally said they were crutches, I have come to this conclusion.

Summoner spells would be fine if they acted more like regular abilities. That means:

-You can cleanse ignite
-You can't cast them while under *any* CC, including silence

Another idea: Make them scale like ultimates: at 6, 11, and 16.

Now they really *are* just like regular abilities. Right now they are pretty privileged in that some things affect regular spells but not summoner spells, and they don't scale the same way. They are either awesome forever, or very diminished in value after the first 10 minutes.

Idk about this, imo the summoner spells are supposed to be different than the champion abilities and they cannot be avoided. This allows for everysingle ability to be equal for they are available to every champion. If they were silencable then champions like kassadin fiddlesticks garren would be much more powerful.
