### [Math Inside] Will of the Ancients post-v1.0.0.105 Aura Analysis

Out of curiosity, several minutes ago I performed simple calculations to see how efficient the new WotA aura to the gold cost. I just want to share the data:

Listed below are the gold benefit from the Aura, respective to how many champions nearby, and the efficiency percentage to the total item gold cost.

Code:
```v1.0.0.105:
Combination cost reduced to 465 gold from 765 gold.
Spell vamp increased to 20% from 15%.```
22g per % Spell Vamp (derived from Hextech Revolver)
21.75g per Ability Power (derived from Amplifying Tome)
Will of the Ancients 2100g
• Just Yourself = 20% SV + 70 AP = 1962.5g = -6.55%
• 2 champions = 40% SV + 100 AP = 3055g = +45.48%
• 3 champions = 60% SV + 130 AP = 4147.5g = +97.5%
• 4 champions = 80% SV + 160 AP = 5240g = +149.52%
• 5 champions = 100% SV + 190 AP = 6332.5g = +201.55%
For the sake of comparisson, I am using the Aegis. (It's a well-balanced aura item, I believe)
16.67g per Armor (derived from Cloth Armor)
16.67g per MR (derived from Null-Magic Mantle)
41.5g per AD (derived from Long Sword)
2.64g per HP (derived from Ruby Crystal)
Aegis of the Legion 1925g
• Just Yourself = 270 HP + 30 Armor + 39 MR + 8 AD = 2194.5g = +14%
• 2 champions = 270 HP + 42 Armor + 54 MR + 16 AD = 2976.5g = +54.62%
• 3 champions = 270 HP + 54 Armor + 69 MR + 24 AD = 3758.5g = +95.25%
• 4 champions = 270 HP + 66 Armor + 84 MR + 32 AD = 4540.5g = +135.87%
• 5 champions = 270 HP + 78 Armor + 99 MR + 40 AD = 5322.5g = +176.49%
The Conclusion: WotA is much better than before. (I believe someone made a similar thread pre-v1.0.0.105 on WotA vs Starks, where WotA fails miserably in terms of benefit per gold; I haven't seen a post-v1.0.0.105 analysis on WotA though.)
I don't know if this item should be a staple on teams. But ****, it has more-or-less the same percentage benefit per gold spent as Aegis. Cheers.
Its a nice item. Don't ruin it.
The main difference is that Aegis stats help everyone, WotA doesn't. Stark's is a better comparison.
WotA seems really nice on Nunu and Amumu if you have 2 people that benefit from AP.
Heck, even Garen benefits from spell vamp.
I think your math is skewed by not using giants belt, NLR, chainvest, and negatron for your baselines, though.
Since when do unique auras stack with 5 people?
I think the thing that sets it apart is the spell vamp/ap because not everyone really benefits from it as much as the armor/mr from aegis. It's still a nice item but not necessary. WotA I see as necessary only if you are play ARAM because then it is amazing.
Every champ out there has an AP ratio built-in (except Garen and Olaf). And damage dealt with most abilities can be vamp'd. So I'm pretty sure WotA actually helps everyone.
Phreak mentioned that, if you're going to do a math revolving around gold values on stats, you should be using the lowest item price for the gold/stat calculation.
All well and good except that spellvamp is a grossly overpriced stat.
Everybody has autoattacks so Stark's actually helps everyone.
You see what I did there?
