Hi all, I played a game as twisted fate to test an item build and I realized that the trinity force buff for casting -> next attack doing 150% more damage was hardly doing this. The buff showed as the sheen buff, and was doing 50% more damage per hit, not the 150% shown. Sheen actually ended up giving me more damage than trinity force on cast. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

150% damage is a 50% increase to what damage you are already doing, the initial 100% is the damage you would do otherwise. r-tard ^.^

You would be right if it didn't say BONUS. 150% BONUS damage is Damage*2.5 . If it worked the way you said then sheen is better in every way, or sheen does absolutely nothing.

It is not plus 100% or 150% damage.
It is plus 100% or 150% base damage!

Base damage is the damage you do before items are applied.
Also the extra damage gained from sheen or trinity can not crit.

Items work as intended.

Just to make things clear:

You do 200% base damage with sheen proc.
And you do 250% base damage with trinity proc.

IIRC press C in game, it says base damage, and includes damage from items

im not saying your wrong, i dont know either way, but if base damage does not include damage from items etc. then the character page in game is misleading, and/or the tooltip for sheen and trinity force

Base damage does indeed take into account items.

However, it does not take into account Criticals or things like Gold Card damage bonuses.

Is it possible that one or both of these hits were critical and thus threw off your numbers?

If you have a Crit with and Infinity Edge, your normal critical damage is 250% of your base damage, and your critical Trinity-boosted damage is 400% of your base damage, which is only about a 50% increase from your normal critical damage. Especially if you were getting 50% Critical damage from Runes and masteries, this would be exactly a 50% increase from your critical damage (300% baste) to your Trinity Critical damage (450% base)

on the same note, i've noticed that lichbane just substitutes your AP for your damage, it does not in fact add it to your base damage.

Is this intended, I would like to hear from riot staff

I did the following test:

Alistar at level 7
Sheen + 2 Long Sword

Base damage (under C) is exactly 100, thats 80 damage from Alister plus 20 from the swords.

I hit the big wolf for 92 damage.
With Sheen Proc I hit the wolf for 166 damage, but I should hit him for 2 times 92 = 184, right?

92 damage means 8% reduction:

80*92% = 73,6 = 74
92 damage + 74 damage = 166 damage

Conclusion:

Base damage is the damage you deal without any items!

If this is true then the stats listed needs to be modified as this is VERY misleading.

Do crits go off base damage? If not then trinity force + infinity edge should be (seeing as base is used)

(damage+1.5*base)(2.5)=damage dealt

also.... I am wondering since cards can be dodged, can they also crit?

BASE DAMAGE IS THE DAMAGE WITHOUT ITEMS (READ:BASE)

spells cannot crit EXCEPT parley
