I just realized why Trundle needed a lore change.

Of course.
Of course that way the ''Everything IronStylus does is gold'' circle jerk can continue. Wouldn't be surprised if there was no Red Post until the change goes live.

That's subjective, but I get the feeling that you haven't been reading the in-depth rebuttals.

Didn't he SAVE the clan by taking the plague onto himself? Since he gets the whole clan's worth of plague himself, the rest are now OK, since there's no plague left for them.

That's what I remember, at least.
by him taking the plague they lost their regenerative capabilirts and therefore began to die
its in his judgement

he refused to give them bcak the plague because they shunned him afterwards

This is something we are reconciling as you see to the changes in lore that are happening, the assigning of factions, allegiances, etc.

We never want to complete out a champion's lore from inception. We want to have lots of room to tell a lot more stories. We don't want to conclude to a hard certainty because that closes the arch of a character. Integration with other characters, factions, etc, strengthens characters because it allows for continuous interactions, cross pollination and alliances. One-off-ism makes things not only confusing, but puts our characters at such distance from each other they may have no way to have a reasonable trajectory with each other. We need opportunities for characters to cross paths, to have relationships, to create conflict.

Again, Runaan will speak a lot to this. I'm not sure if she's gotten a chance to post about Trundle specifically. We've talked a lot about this before, and I'd like us to message why we do the things we do.

as long as you don't change fiddle's lore.. it's fine how it is.

Of course.
I can't believe this got stickied...

I think "wow, oh my god, really?" was my reaction out loud when I saw that this of all threads was stickied and some other trundle thread got moved to that audio/visual feedback sub-forum.

Do they really not want us around anymore? Seems like it.

Scumbag Riot sticky's this thread because it supports them, while moving dissenting threads to other subforums.

With what they are doing to trundle no one is safe. The precedent has been set.

I don't really buy this idea that Trundle's story arc was complete. He is further along compared to other characters, but he still has plenty of room to grow.

At the time of his judgement (late 2010) his tribe was alive and well, but was foreshadowed that they would become weak and die due to the removal of the curse. I thought one possible idea of further moving along the story was having the tribe actually die.

If you wanted to tie a relationship to Trundle you could have another character massacre his tribe. Then Trundle has to deal with how to respond to said character, does he continue the pubic role of hero of the tribe and make enemies of the new character, or does he reveal his true thoughts on his tribe and make allies with them. Maybe its a messy combination of both.

This is just one idea where his original story and judgement is preserved but he is given further room to grow (and also develops him at the same time). I am sure there are other ideas out there.

I'm gonna be frank though. For me the lore is part of the problem but not the problem. I don't care about his lore per se. It's interesting to read through, but it's not like it's shakespeare. Other trundle players feel different, and I can understand where they are coming from. This whole lore thing is a diversion from my actual gripe about it.

To me it's about the theme of the champ/kit. I liked the idea of running around on three limbs as a rabid troll who bites people and has walls of poop and makes wise cracks. This new thing is just replacing that with a lame 'smash smash' voiceover and an ice theme that I've already seen in a lot of other champs+skins. Plus his trololololol laugh is gone.

Sure, I get that people out there like the new trundle just fine. And people out there like teemo. Imagine your favorite champ being turned into teemo's voiceover/theme/laugh. How many of you would **** bricks?
