I must confess it has been a while since I have played Twisted Treeline and I have no idea how to play the new map lol.

During Season 2, our team made it Top 10 in the ladder. Our team was known for Nunu Jungle and we helped popularize it in the old Twisted Treeline. Since Season 2, I have been preoccupied with 5's and even made it onto the LCS qualifiers, but sadly we got beat out by MRN. The point I am getting at is, 5's doesn't translate into 3's and I would very much appreciate it if someone could inform me on what are the current meta/top picks in Twisted Treeline.

What kind of junglers excel in TT? Do you need smite? Do bruisers still dominate the map? How important is alter control? What items are superior?

Much Appreciated

Most games Im in its 1 melee AD, 1 assassin, 1 tank. Something along the lines of Noc, Akali, Singed. Also instead of an assassin, often its just 2 melee ad's stacking lifesteal and they try to end the game before 18

Smite is not 'needed' but is strongly recommended so your jungler has superior clear times/gets the relic/is a larger map presence for your team.

Standard comp is ad bruiser top, jungler (j4/xin/vi/same as SR), ap that fits your team comp bot.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with the new items.

Generic 3s comps look like

Wukong, Lee Sin, Darius

Wukong, Singed, Annie

Darius, Kayle, Akali

are some of the most common teams I have been seeing in 3s.

Running a full time jungle doesn't seem to work for my team. As a team, we basically play aggressive and opportunistic, trying gank as 3v1 or 3v2 when possible. We push lanes out, gank, and then farm jungle when lanes are pushed out.

If another team has a solo bot with a jungle, we just push the hell out of the lane, zone them, and make them lose cs under the tower. This forces the jungler to come and help and then we farm our jungle, then come back and force the issue again.

you need smite if you plan on ganking. without it, you will be too occupied clearing camps
