Wrong forum, but Shaco is bottom tier right now. Don't use him.

Shaco is perfectly fine. He's just tricky. He's FAR from bottom tier if you play him as AD jungle. Read a guide if you have issues with him

Bonus points to Works At Gay Bar for bringing up a Ram Steed reference.

You dont play him like a traditional assassin, you play him as an ambush/escape artist. He excels at ganking if you set your box in the right position. His boxes are, quite honestly, one of the best early game tools in his arsenal. You can get an enemy champion (or pretty much any jungle boss) down by luring them into a box trap with 2-3 boxes set.

Mid game, you can solo pretty much anyone if they walk into your boxes. With red buff, you can keep them in a box trap with your slows plus a hallucinate, which will overwhelm them very quickly.

End game, he's the 'clean up guy'. Harass the enemy team by setting boxes in key places, and wait for your tank to initiate. After the majority of the fight is over, swoop in with a deceive and hallucinate to pick up any kills left.

Of course, this is just how I play him.
