Is MR more viable now after the AP buffs?

Instead of nerfng HP, Riot buffed AP.

They've done this because they either approve of the HP Meta and wanted to buff APs against it, or they want people to start buying MR vs APs like we used to.

But can you really buff AP without buffing MR and expect people to buy it? MR is now less effective than it was pre-HP Meta.

If anything, Riot is just telling people to buy more HP now.

It still reduces damage by a percent, which means the more damage they do the more damage it negates.

Also, health gets less effective relative to resists the more of it you get.

They want people to buy AP instead of Magic penetration which people are still building too much of. Why go Deathcap when you can go Liandry's, Void staff, Abyssal. Most of AP champion's damage is in their base damage, this has always been known. This is why they get the solo lane instead of the ADC, because they scale better off levels rather than items.
