Well, love all the ideas but some aren't very viable or i can't think it to be good.

Buffs: Good, maybe getting them with a quest or by holding X or/and Y point (like capping something or holding like a refinery and a blacksmith, you would get an AD bonus) just to don't be too similar to dominion

Debuff: A nice idea but i can't imagine how you would get them and also you if the enemy team has a buff and you are debuffed you will be on a really big disadvantage.

Jungle: Could be or could not, maybe a big boss like dragon or vilemaw (i think that's twisted treeline boss name) if it is a violent map like dominion, but i don't like the idea of a jungle.

Minion upgrading: I love that idea, you could upgrade your minions to be more powerful or even get some special minions with skills or maybe auras

Minions interaction: Don't really like the idea, could be a good idea but only if there were 5-man premade teams, because on the queue there could be a lot of people with HIS great idea and being idiots

Aggressive monsters: If there were a jungle, it could be a shortcut between points or bases and the monsters there could attack you if you pass by and maybe land you a debuff like BF torch or rylai, but not attacking bases

Environmental hazards: Loved the idea but i can't think of any zone on it. If there are points to capture, the points could give auras, like a mana regen fountain or an ap/mr stone

Coop with Ai: It's a good idea but the bots are kinda retarded, maybe a champion or something to escort.

Team wide purchases: Like the idea but imagine a team with all tanks/bruisers (like renekton, trynda. darius) which gets an Ad aura, an MR and an armor aura (kinda unstoppable i think). The only thing i imagine is maybe a special monster (with lot of auras) summoned by paying

Structure interaction: I like the idea of repairing something destroyed but not creating anything new, maybe capturing strategic points but it would be kinda similar to dominion.

Resource gathering: Not a good idea, i dont really like it

Limited Resources: Everything is better when limited

First of all, thank you for your vote, and to be clear, the 2 points I loved about your post is the fact that you talked about every points, and the fact that you mentioned "viable". because imo, all of those are viable if the map is built around it (hence shy I made this vote early on :P).

Yeah, for now I'm not too stressed with the means, actually, it's nearly 100% sure that buffs are gonna be present in the map... I simply added it in there because it felt cheap to me to leave them apart.

My idea of it is basically a Baron Nashor that instead of buffing you, debuffs the enemy team. It roughly does the same, but sometimes, it may makes things different. (-10% global cdr is HUGE compared to +10% global cdr). Otherwise, if there are zones, making enemies debuffed while in your zone (slightly) is another way. I can probably imagine another 5 or 6 without trying to much :P.

Actually, this was kind of a weird one, because the poll actually checked for how many peoples wouldn't vote for jungle (similar with buffs). Or basically, would a lot of people complain if there were no buffs/jungle in a map.

This is one of the scariest imo... it simply makes the matches too math-y in my mind, but I chose to throw every single idea in there.

yeah, that's why I think that if we go with minion interactions, there will have to be a way to influence the team, while never being able to 100% choose (like a vote, maybe, or like I said, everyone interacts with 20% of the minions).

Once again, here, the possible applications are infinite. The poll is basically more of a "checking the pulse and then letting my (and others') mind go free" than a strict guideline.

Yeah, this one is one of those where the game has to be built around the feature. Basically, the AI will most probably be in the middle of the game (protect the civilian, a map where there are miners that give you global gold, a defend the castle map where it is like 2-3 + 2-3 comps against waves of minions/monsters/AI, etc.)

Well, I'm glad you came by, I never thought about buying a monster... But otherwise, I know it can be frightening and is, in most cases, a trap (either you always need to do this, or never).

I'm not so sure about that... Being capped to 8k gold on SR won't make the game more enjoyable... and neither will having only 10 lives.




What I found the most funny in your feedback is that a couple of time you said : "This couldn't work, would feel too similar to Dominion". My take on this is : "Dude... this looks so much like Dominion, but more awesome... **** Dominion, greet Domz2.0". So yeah, basically I predict that we're heading toward a remake of Dominion. My final goal is only to have a map, completed, that took in the feedback of the community, and explained why X/Y/Z other opportunities weren't really good design ideas.

Btw, if you want to give more ideas about what a new map could look like (and I truly mean ANY feedback), feel free to drop by the main thread.

I think this would be a cool idea, but not necessarily as a 5v5v5. Instead, you could possibly have a massive free-for-all style arena combat where the 15 champs show up. It would be a structured chaos.

There might be some limitations regarding 5v5v5. You don't want to find yourself in a position where you have 6-8 champs ready to burst you down. In a FFA situation, you should always feel like your death meant something and could have been avoided. I think having a neutral monster camp focus for obtaining buffs and defending your base from neutral creeps and enemy minions would turn 3 man teams into an all-out jungle fest that would be enjoyable. I can see players using the neutral monsters in combat, and luring opponents into aggressive jungle camps. I can see it as an idea that can be explored.

I somehow missed the replies earlier on. The reason it's being planned 5v5v5 is because that's the result that came out of the first vote, on the numebr of teams and players for the map. As for the limitations, there are more tha nyo ucan probably imagine... I'm already trying to come up with ideas for the next vote (the core gameplay), yet I never really get answers for the core problems of a 3-teamed map or a 8+ enemy players map.

Basically :
- YES there will be problems.
- It will still most probably be 5v5v5.
- We will need to find a way to solve said problems (or revert to 2 teams).
