I saw the pic in Larias' post and it reminded me of the old article that pictured a fully finished visual rework for Mordekaiser that as of now has not seen the light of day. Article here http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/league-of-legends-incredible-new-art-style/

Personally I don't like it, it looks like they replaced all of his metal spikes with bone spikes and he has a serious case of sonic adventure DX shiny everything syndrome. Was the reason this was never completed simply because of fan outcry? I wasn't playing league at the time the article was released so anyone who was please fill me in.

Not quite. They decided to go on a champ-by-champ basis rather than one giant overhaul.

All the visual reworks are pretty much what's left of project shiny.

I sincerely hope they never implement the Morde visual rework. He has a detailed enough model that he will probably never need one.
