Well you must admit their are Asian champs coming out of the wood work, By my count their are 9 Asians (Ahri, Akali, Irelia, Karma (Indian?), Lee Sin, Malzahar (Arabian), Shen, Xin Zhao, Zilian), but that's hardly surprising considering that real Asians dominate the RTS game genre and are a major target audience (also Ninjas are cool). Lack of diversity in champions tends to follow from the lack of diversity in the development team or in the target audience which is a broader problem in virtually every aspect of American culture, they say that when Polaroid film was developed it did not work effectively on black skin because all the testing had been done with white subjects who were naturally the development team themselves. Having worked in a game development company I can tell ya black employees are very rare (rarer even then women who are already very rare) and that makes it very easy to just forget to include any kind of diversity, and much like the Polaroid film, the market place doesn't punish the company for it so they have little reason to go out of their way to fix it.

P.S. Ryze's facial features are clearly no African, don't be dense.

Developers tend to design champions that appeal to them. If no black champion appeals to them, why would they make it...

Rather than having a champion who is defined by BEING BLACK (which is racist as balls, by the way,) why don't you work on making a champion and, by extension, nation that fits your afro-centric needs? Make them travelers from distant lands or something.
