I like to play Top lane the most, but honestly at level 18, so does everyone else. When does this stop?

Before each game I say "top>support>mid", and normally get stuck with support because three other people call top and I don't want to be in the middle of all of it :\

Also quickly what supports are good for rescuing your ADC when they are about to die (other than Thresh... Nobody uses the lantern...)

Your adc shouldnt be in trouble =O

You want a support who can silence/slow/stun/or shield.

Kayle has a good shield as her ultimate. Cho gath can silence enemies and slow them. Teemo has his mushrooms which can slow people down. alistar can knock people in the air. =)

And you just have to be polite but firm to secure top. its good to know other lanes because some people just instant lock their champion. Knowing other lanes can help you win more games.

Good Luck!

Stupid Thresh lantern... My friend has a habit of throwing it down in big groups of creeps making it really easy to misclick.
"Dude, click the lantern!"
"I'm trying!!!"
*click click click*
*You have been slain!*
"Gah!" >_<

Hmm I think I'll try to learn Alistar.
The ADC is in trouble oftentimes because they're normally one of the people arguing over top who's used to playing a bruiser, and tries to go HAM D:

yeah i know what youre saying there. alistar is a good tank.

If youre like me and just never trust a random ADC, if i end up getting stuck at support role ill pick nidalee. That poke keeps people at bay. (gotta master the skill shot). your adc can farm freely with you taking big jabs at the enemy. =)

Man, my hidden Elo must be terribad. x D;

I'm 21, and I rarely get champ select communication beyond lane-calling. It's pretty common for people to double- or even triple-pick a role (ADC, APC, and/or Bruiser), but there's not usually a Jungler or Support anyway, so the actual lanes don't really matter. Occasionally, I'll get someone who complains about our team comp, but I've never had one of them switch to fill.

I've had mixed success supporting as Sona. It's fun to get the Captain Enchantment and escort a low-HP teammate (or two) back to base while spamming W and E on them, and in the worst case scenarios, I can usually manage a decent ult-escape. OTOH, if I get a truly suicidal ADC, there's not much I can do but try to help the rest of the team and hope one of them can carry.

(Poor Thresh and his lantern, haha. I'd click it, but I've usually Arcane Shifted the hell out of there already. I'm sure people will get more used to lantern-clicking after a few weeks. That said, I do love me a Thresh on my team.)

I think the first day or so that Thresh was out his lantern was bugged or something because it was incredibly hard to click. It seems that shortly afterwards this was fixed. However it's still possible for an opposing champ (WHY, CHO?) to hug the lantern to make sure you pretty much can't click it.

I have a few. There is Alistar (which someone has already mentioned about). Use W and spam Q while in W so the enemies are stunned for a good long time. His ult is pretty annoying as he's just harder to kill. If you want to save the ADC, stun your enemies and use your ult to survive.

Then, there's Shen. He can taunt the enemy to draw the agro away from the ADC, or give them a shield with his ult.

Soraka. Need to heal carry? Press W. Carry about to die? Press R. It makes the opponent want to rip their hair out.

Sona. Use W, E, and if enemies get too close, use R.

Morgana. Q the enemy and use E (spell shield) on your carry. Should prevent most problems.

And, last but not least, there is Kick-ass Karma ! She's hard to master, but is really fun to play. Give them a shield, and if you do mantra + shield on low health, then you'll most likely annihilate the enemy trying to chase you. You also have a decent heal and a pretty good haste that also slows. She falls off late game though so that's one reason you might not want to use her.
