The last couple of patches we've seen have removed the energy cost from Kennen's Ult, increase his AA missle speed, and introduced a new Armor+AP item that builds into Zhonya's. It certainly seems like Kennen has been getting a bit of love recently. What do you guys think about his current state? Is he strong again?

He's always been strong, just harder to play than other champions I guess

These are 3 extremely minor buffs. Why play Kennen when you could pick up a bruiser that is 2x as easy to play, tankier and does just as much damage?

A skilled Kennen doesn't really lose to anyone in lane.

Also, because Kennen has massive teamfight presence that cannot be shut down.

Kennen can go 1-10 in lane but he will ALWAYS have a team-wide AoE stun with decent base damages. No bruiser has anything like it.

There are many bruisers that are easier to play that, if camped or otherwise shut down, will become completely useless. Not Kennen.

Because kennen can stun the entire enemy team. and some of them twice. Isn't that why mumu is fotm?

The major problem is in S3, Kennen does not fair well against against all the health stacking.

Otherwise, these direct and indirect buffs to Kennen are great and he is certainly still an excellent pick but perhaps not the best at the moment due to the defensive item balance.

Could a grindier Kennen that runs Rylai's and Liandry's work well then?

Armguard is amazing on any AP toplane.

Honestly, rumble, kennen, and vlad were all buffed ALOT in toplane, would not be surprised to see a big comeback.

Not to say rumbles not already popular though.

Everyone says this but its not that hard to win lane as kennen, it takes skill, but not any more than it takes for a bruiser. Max W, harass, stun them and run away if they try and gapclose.

And don't even get me started on teamfights, basically every AoE caster is the same, suicide and press zhonya's. Its not about damage, its the fact you AoE stun a team that makes kennen powerful.
