after champion select, The League of Legends client closes before the summoning screen giving me an error stating "Unknown directx error. please make sure your video card supports shader model 2.0 and that it is using drivers from the manufacture."
I am using an Intel hd (R) 4000 and is able to run almost any other game at relatively good specs. Please help me solve this issue.

Move to the folder:
League of Legends/Config/
Delete the file 'game.cfg' and 'input.txt'
Relaunch the game, try to spectate someone.
IF that still doesn't work, move to these two folders:
League of Legends/RADS/projects/lol_game_client and lol_game_client_en_us
Delete both of them.
Then run the repair option in the launcher, by clicking the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner.

Click your start menu button.
Type 'dxdiag' into the field and hit enter.
When the new screen pops up, run 'x64 version' if that button or similar wording is on the bottom.
Then, hit the 'save all information' button and remember where you saved it.
Reply to this thread with the 'go advanced button' and upload the .txt file here please.

I just bought a new computer with video card shader model 5.0 and was getting that error message.
bigjakepro's tip above fixed the issue, try it!

I cannot find the two files mentioned... but will try to repair the installation while waiting for a reply to the DxDiag.txt file.

i think its a LOL settings problem.

What i did to fix it is copy a working LOL folder (from my other laptop where it was working) and pasting it over the lol folder on my new laptop where lol didnt want to work.
