What some people are failing to realize is that not every champion who needs mana regen needs to go whole hog getting a big mana item like tear/grail/etc. Sometimes the little bit of regen on items like DFG or Nashors was all you needed. Kayle is one example. A lot of Mana using bruisers is another.

So now, instead of spending 230 extra gold in nashor's recipe for a touch of mana regen that was sufficient for decent mana sustain (Using Kayle or Teemo as an example), we have to either buy a useless Charm to sell later or build it into a dedicated mana item that is completely redundant to our build needs.

so now perhaps be a bit more conservative with your mana instead of trying to hit blinding dart/reckoning every time it's up?

Or just get Sheen. Either/or.

It's really easy for you to be flippant and imply that people who point out problems with this change are bad, isn't it? We're not stupid, we know there are ways to deal. But every change we make to adjust has other consequences. If one harasses less, the opponent is safer in farming. If we get runes for mana, that's other runes we have to short ourselves on. We now have to shift our whole build to accomadate items we normally wouldn't have much use for.

These 'little' changes don't happen in a vacuum. There are a lot of ripple here, and some of us are concerned. If you disagree, that's fine, but don't talk to us like we're hysterical morons. Most of us know how to adjust. Most of us also see the extra consequences of adjusting.

and most of the people on GD are hysterical morons. Pardon me for not taking the time to assume otherwise.

You need to learn how to conserve mana if you're going oom after picking up a chalice/tear/catalyst

I agree, Tear is pretty much only for champions that spam skills all the time, such as ap Kog and Karthus, but even Athene's is better on Karthus now in my opinion. Athene's is helpful but Riot should definitely stop nerfing mana regen, it's hard enough to keep up mana now.

Seems like you're also pretty good at avoiding responsibility for your own tone and behavior. Bravo.

Yet another person who does not take the time to actually read what people are saying. NOT EVERY CHAMPION THAT USES MANA NEEDED TEAR/CHALICE/CATALYST BEFORE. Now they're being forced to use those, which are in a lot of cases more than we actually needed. Meaning we spend more money on mana than we used to, at the expense of other stats we need as well. ALTERNATIVELY, we use mana runes and lose out on armor or other stats we used runes for previously.

not every champion that uses mana needs Mp5, either.

for instance, the examples of pantheon/malphite being contenders for Codex quite literally made me facepalm.

They did it to discourage alternate builds.

tear and chalice pretty much take the cake for mp/5
