Simple Question Regarding ELO

I am 1664 current.
Recently i have been getting matched with some high ass elo people.
When I was duoin i was 1650 and my duo was 1670. My team? 1950,1850,1820.
Other team average 1800.
And Soloing I get matched with 1780,1760,1730,1640..
I get some highelo people WHY is this happening?.
Anyone good at the elo system explain plox.!

teams are not always equal to speed up matchmaking. that's why you gain more/lose less elo in some games. they know roughly the win % for each team based on average elo, so mathematically it's probably all the same in the end.

There is a red post about re-configureing people that you get matched with. Wins are also configured, so maybe the people you got in the same game with have the same number of wins? Riot has said they tweaked the formula they use to match people. Hope this helps. And good luck with your High Elo games!

I noticed this too, but in a reverse order.
I'm 1600 and 2nd pick.
Enemy first and 2nd pick were duo queued 1630~ and 1543~
their other 3 were 1525~ 1528~ and 1456~
our team was:
1627~ first pick 1600 2nd 1576 1461 1440

Duo queues really **** up matchmaker. that's about a 180 elo difference between 1st pick and last pick.

Thx. Thats the answer i was looking for.
But, It's funny I got only 11 elo beating 1730 average elo team.
