that makes her so binary, if she gets nerfed, she's underpowered, any buffs or improved itemization, she turns overpowered, there never seems to be a point where she's strong without being totally obnoxious.

The true damage she gets from Hiten Style hits very hard even when she isn't ahead.

When she IS ahead, she bolsters that damage even further with AS items.

Then you factor in her ability to passively shrug off CC, and you get a 2-ton snowball.

The new Randuins is a direct "**** You Irelia" of an item. You should try it if you hate her so much.

She deals all 3 forms of damage, and despite that she can benefit from almost any item in the game.

Her Q and R does ad damage and scales with AD, so if for some reason you have a fid jungle, morg mid, lux support, and say a karthus/ryze/kennen bot. The enemy is stacking hardcore MR, you could max Q second instead of E and get some nice AD.

So regardless of if your team is balanced or lopsided to one element, you are not hindered by leveling W first for sustain. Which is HUGE in this game, the person who can stay in the lane longer and trade better usually wins. One of the reasons why vlad is almost always banned or picked in pro play or at least was until season 3, dunno if it's changed since.

Her ultimate can be used while running and is aoe, which also further heals her...

Her passive makes locking her down almost impossible, she's practically immune to CC with the defense tree and merc treads, and if that wasn't bad enough she has a gap closer for toons like cait or trist that can be tricky to get to at times.

How do you balance a toon that has no restrictions? Her only weakness is her level 1-4 game and that she has no " natural " escape from early ganks.

She's just one of those champions that the developers derped when they created, but it took a little smarts to understand her and part of the reason she wasn't played when she released. This is what let her basically go unnoticed and before it was too late to fix, she was massively popular. It'd be like removing rengar from the game after he released, which a lot of people believe is irelia 2.0 to begin with.

Not even sure where to start. W's main function is true damage, not sustain. You don't level Q if you need physical damage and you don't level E if you need magic damage. Neither are relevant since you have true damage. Who cares what resist they stack? True damage surely doesn't.

She does have restrictions, but if played well she's very effective. Like 99% of the champs in this game.
