What is it, friend, to climb this peak,
Or glide gracefully from vaunted height--
But why row upstream through this creek
With no end, nor rest, within sight?

I sailed upon the mighty seas,
in youth, and traveled many lands,
and smiled to feel morning's breeze
upon my weary sun-kissed hands.

But guiding winds long ceased to blow,
and clouds cloak skies at darkest night;
with heavy heart, by city's glow,
I'm loathe to follow this new light.

You know nothing of what it was
to live in towers of broken steel;
the millions walking without pause,
their feet stomp my mind to kneel.

No more, for I have climbed great peaks
and soared the sky, like winged bird;
but here, the days pass into weeks,
as have I, unseen, unheard.

Fret not, I return whence I came,
No alarm shall find its place within.
'tis better to forget the name
of this unhappy once has been...

The flow of creek shall bring me back
To where I want to find respite;
Lost, under waves of waters black,
Lost, under waves of waters white.

Only under the heaviest snowfall,
Do the thick branches of trees snap and break,
Crushed under the weight of calamity
That melt, soon enough, in the warmth of spring.

I hope you're not committing suicide. Are you alright?

I just took more valiums that one should in one sitting, soon I shall fall asleep, my dreams shall never end, and my soul shall be at peast with itself at lace.

I shall share some more emo poetry with OT, before I pass forever into oblivion.

this was written about a year ago:

Like a suckling babe, still dumb--
unaware
I drift through life with blinded eyes,
twisting, turning, through tinted tours;
the tells and yells all deaf to me
these shall be the death of me.

Turn the other cheek, but not
to take a blow;
Turn the other cheek instead,
to avoid what I might know.

Twenty days have passed since
such thoughts have left my mind, yet
still they remain, they feast
on the dark cogitation
agitating in doubt, remorse
and the fear of the Known
turned Unknown.

This, 2.5 years ago:

Memory

In the black of nights once passed,
the Stars glimmer without showing themselves:
Shy from the exuberance of the daily Sun
and drowned by the smoke and glare
of cities where corn-field-lights line streets,
Making the ground the sky, from far up here,
tracing new patterns and constellations
To point the way, the way back home...

Evenings where treetop outlines of forests
cast their twilight shadow have been long replaced
by towering steel, that block the Sun without pause
and never bend with the wind--The rustle of leaves
have long been blown away by the rush of trains
That come and go long before their passengers
are able to run and reach their destiny.

We used to find Mercury in the early hours
and pass wishes upon our falling Stars;
But now I only wish for flashing head beams
to come with lighted car-top lighted signs.
We used to see Venus dance by the Moon
enticing the world to dance without steps.

I have since forgotten what it was to dance,
preferring instead to remember your brilliance;
Tracing your patterns in the lights of your eyes.
Each passing day erodes what was known piece by bit,
'til nothing more is left but remembrance of a memory.

The wind that blows, slips through fingers easily,
fooling the feel of a cupped grasp, and
blowing daily crowds from deserted nightly streets,
'til nothing more is left but lost wonderers from afar.

...outside, the lights below slowly disappear
behind the Clouds whose murky curtain kept me
from being able to see the Stars once more.

Closer now, and closer, for the Dipper points the way,
yet lost with fear I am, for troubling questions remain:

Will you have remembered? or did you forget?
