So I e been playing thresh and be has been pretty beast. His kit has enough in it to really mess up the other team. I've been working on a damage build for him and I can't figure out which is a better route for him. His passive on his Q makes last hitting easy for CS. It also does massive dmg when coupled with infinity edge and the bloodthirster. But if you stack AP you get a huge increase to his ult damage as well as his shield from the lantern.

I was thinking of a hybrid build

Hextech gun blade
Guinsoos rageblade
Spirit visage
CDR boots

Lategame
Crystal scepter
Mercurial scimitar

Support. I hate first/second week of the new support champions because everyone tries to play her in silly roles. Solo top Leona, anyone?

And I hate it when ppl get stuck in a bubble of "right" thinking. Thresh is an aggressive support who's kit demands he be up close to maximize his effectiveness. Plus two Passover increasing his dmg means maybe we should think about him a bit differently than sona or Janna.

Playing Thresh as an adc is pretty strong, and you get free ap from farming. The bonus damage on his q is insane, it makes your next auto do triple damage.
