I can't start the launcher "PVP.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working"

Whenever I click to play league of legends and open the launcher, I instantly get a "PVP.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working" And it asks me to close the program.

Must I reinstall?

Oh, and is there a 64 bit version if I have to reinstall?

Running as administrator did not work.
There are no processes related to league running.

I've been getting this problem as well. Don't try uninstalling/reinstalling; it doesn't work. It just made the problem worse.

I wiped my pc and did a clean install of windows 8 and it still didn't work for me.

I wiped my PC clean and did a clean install of windows version 8 and LOL still doesn't work for me ever since the new update. I also get the PVP.net patcher error.It works fine on my Windows 7 and windows XP machines.

Nothing is working for me. I have tried everything in the book. Even thrown the book at it. I have never ever had a issue with Riot before until now. The only question im having is why the hell is my internet stuffing up now? I can't connect to facebook, NBA or any other sites other than Leagueoglegends.com HAAALP

Having the exact same problem haha I was just waiting for the new patch, then when I tried starting it, it just stops at the League of Legend splash thingy in the middle of the screen :P

Hello, to my knowledge there are several routes to take.
Firstly, the simplest, is to run as admin. A simple function that most users have knowledge of.

If this does not work i recommend secondly to follow these steps.

Go into your League of Legends folder in C:/Riot Games
Open up the "RADS" folder.
Open up the "Projects" folder.
Open up the "lol_air_client" folder.
Open up the "releases" folder.
Open up the folder that's in there. It changes every patch, but contains the same stuff.
Delete the two files named "S_OK" and "release manifest"
Open up the "deploy" folder.
Delete the "logs", "META-INF", "lol.properties", and "LoLClient.exe"
Restart your Patcher.
It will repatch the recent patch you had just downloaded.
This will usually fix it. If not I suggest trying to do a repair from the patcher's options. It takes from 10-20 minutes.

Run as admin worked for me. Don't delete those files unless it doesn't work when you run as admin.
Also, to run as admin, right click on the app in all programs and you should see run as administrator on that list, then it is self explanatory.
