Does anyone else think Champions with serveral dual use abilites are Over Powered? I can understand pure support champs like lulu having duo abilites as to attract people to use them, but champs like Jayce and Elise just seem ridiculous over powered due to the abilites they have access too. Now some people will argue and wag thier fingers saying "Well its cause they don't have an ult so it's okay." So instead of 4 abilites they get 6?

Exactly, I wreck people all day with Elise because people refuse to buy MR, and soon as they get a decent amount of MR, her OP appearance goes away.

smorgasborg, while I most certainly see your frustration, remember this:
Both Jayce and Elise deal 100% of their damage in one kind. Jayce does all his damage in AD, and Elise all in AP(actually I think her spider form w does some ad because its a speed boost..but thats not where the majority of her damage comes from).

Their damage is not mixed like many top champs. As mentioned earlier by Legacy, just get a couple mr items to counter Elise, armor for Jayce, and you should be good to go.

Any good Elise and Jayce player will of course get haunting guise and brutalizer though

The "dual use" abilities are really two-part.

In Lee Sin's case, he has to use one ability in order to make the other half of it available, and that's for 3 seconds. His Q would be useless if it were just the skill shot, and overpowered if it were just the jump (with its 1100 range) so the two are attached. His W would be really out of place without its second half, because otherwise his only self-boosting ability would be his passive, which he has to constantly interrupt. For his E, almost no champion has an AoE pure damage spell; when it's pure damage, it deals MUCH more than Tempest does. So having the slow on there is understandable (especially since its his only CC besides his ultimate).

For Nidalee, Elise and Jayce, they have two separate kits that they have to juggle between in order to remain effective (either that or they're losing half their potential). The biggest problem in Elise and Jayce's case is mana, and for Nidalee it's the fact that she has to level up her ultimate for half her skills to gain power.

Elise is OP, she has been sense release, and then they buffed her. If you want to be unstoppable as Elise it's simple, magic pen runes (about 20). Rush a liandry's, and pen boots. That's a flat 50 magic pen, then if they build a lot of mr you take either void staff, or malady. Then a single death cap for ap. Because of how much % damage she does, and once they get into the negative MR, you will still do massive damage, without having to worry about getting built against.

assassin does not much to squishy targets ftw

OP? no. They just have more option, in theory because they NEED more option.
Nidalee is not OP, she is just slipery and has 1 (and only one) big damage spell. Said spell is a bit of a gambit also.
Elise? I honestly don't know.
Jayce? He was OP not because he had 6 skills. But because he did everything. Tanky? check poke? Aoe? CC? Team-wide speed buff? all check. But we've seen champion with straight skills that were nerfed for the same reason. Take vayne. She was the carry, the anti-carry, the assassin, the team fighter and the duelist. She was hit.

I think Jayce is overpowered, and Elise is pretty strong. I would say Nidalee is fine though.

her small scailing on her spider attacks would be crushed by mr. THAT is why all you need is magic penetration because 30 bonus magic damage(100 ap ish) reduced to 25 due to mpen PER ATTACK is better then 70 bonus magic damage(220 ap ish) reduced to 20 due to 40 mr on vayne

they may seem a bit stronger at first glance but they do require a bit of more knowledge and skill to play, knowing when to use what ability, timing it takes to switch over and such like that if you learn the champ youll have an easier time playing against him or her
