Just posting this to save space on the original contest thread.

Quote:
Name: Gray - The Ancient Hero

Lore (Lamb):Long ago there was a boy by the name of Gray in a small village. One day a demon came through a dark portal and attacked the village but did not completely destroy it. After several years of this pattern the people could take no more, and Gray took it upon himself to gather the villages holy relics and slay the demon. But when it did come again Gray could not use the full potential of the relics and lost to the demon and was even captured by it. Entering the demon's realm weakened Gray and the very nature of the place seemed to be persuading him to turn on his homeland and become like the demon himself. But Gray resisted and infuriated the demon with his stubbornness. He tortured Gray and threatened to kill him but he would not submit. After this the demon said he would destroy his entire village for his insolence and opened a portal back to Gray's home. Once the demon was through though, he mistakenly left the portal open and Gray followed him in an effort to stop his madness, but he was too late. After going through the portal, Gray found his home was already gone no one was left alive. Except the demon who was waiting for him. Though weakened, Gray had figured out how to use the power of his relics and now could fight the demon on equal footing. After a long and arduous battle, Gray had finally subdued the demon and was about to take his vengeance. But just as he would deliver the finishing blow, the demon cursed Gray, and himself, to turn into stone for one thousand years.

Later the town was discovered by neighboring villages who rebuilt it for their own purpose. Eventually they formed cities, and then provinces, and then capitols. Until the entire area had become the single nation of Ionia. And all the while the demon's curse went on until finally, a thousand years had passed. And though the demon was able to keep the curse going for so long, he had only delayed the inevitable. Finally, after centuries, Gray's fallen village was avenged. However, while time had stopped for Gray, the rest of the world had kept going and an entirely new town had formed around the "Heroes Statue". While the people were surprised to find their most cherished monument come to life, their language had not changed much over time, and Gray was able to communicate and explain his story to the locals and dissuade their fears. After being given a while to try to adjust to his new surroundings, one of the local scholars had studied the remains of the demon and found it to actually be a creature of the void and recommended Gray to seek out what remained of the League of Legends, mentioning that, though they were disbanded since the invasion of the Void, some League members had joined together to fight off the Void and it's monstrous creations who were beginning to invade their realm once more. Accepting the scholars advice, Gray went off in search of the League, promising himself he would never let the creatures of the Void win their invasion. No matter the cost.

"I have nothing to lose in defeat, and everything to gain in yours."

Appearance: Think Roy from Fire Emblem (or Smash Brother's Melee for those who played it) except give him paler colors. Almost like you made only his clothes black and white.

Just pretend the red places are silver instead.

Abilities
Innate:Blade of Ages- Gray's sword can sustain its own magic by leeching it from nearby enemies, increasing Gray's power. Passively reduce the AP of enemy champions when attacked and increase your own for the total amount drained from champions.
Attacks will apply a debuff to enemies and a buff to yourself that will stack with each attack. The self buff increases your AP based on the number of debuff stacks applied to all attacked champions.
Damage bonus: +5/6/7 AP taken from enemy champions upon being auto attacked. Enemies will slowly regain AP over 15 secs if they have not been attacked by Gray in the last 10 sec. Champions cannot receive negative AP from this but will still "lose" AP even if they do not have any.

"Q":Mighty Slash- Gray perform a powerful slash that is boosted by his magic. Activate to swing the sword around you to create a wave of magic and damage enemies in a radius. Enemies closest to Gray take physical damage and are stunned, but those farther out just take magic damage.
Cooldown: 15/13/11/9/7 sec
Cost: 70/90/110/130/150
Duration: has a .5 sec charge state (similar Thresh's "Q"), activates in next half-a-sec, stun lasts 2 sec.
Damage: 75/125/175/225/275 (+.3 AD if dealt physical damage), (+.6 AP if dealt magical damage)
Range: 0-300 take physical damage, 300-600 take magic damage

"W":Stand Tall-Gray can emanate an aura around himself that actively heals his wounds. Mana per sec self-aura that grants equal amount of health regen.
Cooldown: 8 sec (same with level increase)
Cost: 3/6/9/12/151
Duration: (while mana lasts)
Heal: Extra health regen per sec equal to mana cost (+.03 AP)
Range: Self.

"E":Bow of Demon's Bane- Though the sword is his main weapon, Gray can also utilize a bow that creates arrows of light, penetrating any barrier. Passively store "light charges" after auto-attacking opponents. Activate to fire a skill-shot, damaging and slowing anything in the path of the shot. Firing with one charge will deal minor base damage but will not slow. Each successive charge increases damage and range, but not the slow effect. Firing consumes all charges. and puts the spell on cooldown wherein you will not gain charges from your attacks. Max of 31 charges.
Cooldown: 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 sec
Cost: 60/75/90/105/120 mana regardless of the number of charges
Duration: (distance covered) 1.5 sec, slow lasts 2.5 sec
Damage: 60/80/100/120/140 (+7 for each charge past one)(+.4 AP to total damage)
Range: 700 (+10 for each charge past 1)

"R":Ghostly Assault- Gray focuses magic around his body to project copies of himself, sending them outward to attack. Enter a charging state that creates a "magic clone" for each second of charging. At the end of the charge or when the charge is broken, all clones will lunge towards the nearest champion and attack, dealing magic damage and possibly silencing them. Multiple clones can target the same champion and will stack damage but do not stack the chance to silence the opponent. If there are no nearby champions the clones will wait in place until one comes within range, if not then they will dissipate and refund part of the mana cost.
Cooldown: 140/130/120 sec
Cost: 150/200/250 mana
Duration: 3/4/5 sec charge, wait time is 30 sec (same with level increase)
Damage: (of each clone) 250/350/450 (+ .3 AD)(+.5 AP)
Range: clones appear 100 units away from self, their "attack range" is 650

Notice to those confused about the page name: This was an entry into the monthly contests but I am reopening it to be a regular concept champion. Currently the only addition to the original design is attack speed scaling which was left out due to misinformation from teammates. I would greatly accept feedback on this and will attempt to re-post a full revision as a new thread. Please don not just browse. Give some actual critic of the champion even if it's just on whether the picture link fits the idea of the champion.

First off, his lore interferes with the entire lore of League of Legends. Can't be a playable champion if he's not in the timeframe League is currently taking place in. Perhaps he should somehow go back in time, just a thought.

Perhaps make the ratio on W 100% at all ranks, but make the mana cost different. For instance, something like 3/5/8/10/12 or something. It gives it a little more at max rank, also costing a little higher mana, and at lower ranks it still doesn't heal as much ,though it won't run your mana into the ground as hard.

Also, depending on how many clones there are, say 5 clones focusing one champion would make it do like over 2000 damage. That is a lot, considering there's also a chance to silence. And the damage being able to be spread out as well. I'd suggest lowering the damage additional clones deal to the same champion.

Other than that, looks great! I like the idea.

I'll adapt Vha'Xath's loreeeeeee :P

Edit on 04-27-13: changed passive to attack stacks and heal to be based on mana cost entirely (thanks for the tip Frostbite Snipes!).
