They said they had overbuffed him in the past few patches but I can't see it.

V1.0.0.141:

Rumble now has a marker at 50 heat to denote when he has reached the Danger Zone.
Flamespitter: now more responsive especially while moving and turning.
Electro-Harpoon: now has a swirling icon overlay and a slight icon shift to denote the second shot.

Those were the overbuff?

There was a bugfix in the Jayce patch which was not part of the patch notes. It made Flamespitter's damage more consistent, but his base damage is ludicrous for how consistent it is now.

Ratios were tuned to old unresponsive maybe it did dmg maybe it didnt mode. now it does ridic dmg because it hits much much much moreoften. hence, overbuffed.

> Rumble has a problem with flamespitter not applying damage correctly. Still is considered a solid pick.

> Riot fixes Rumbles flamespitter. Now does an OP amount of damage.

> Riot nerfs flamespitter back to how it was, and then nerfs Rumbles passive.

What the actual ****?

you know how when rumble walks and auto attacks the fire from flamespitter goes freaking everywhere?

well that made it not hit half the time.
they made it hit all the time. so now its stupid powerful.

once they nerf it, it will be closer in damage to where it used to be.

Rumble's win percentage skyrocketed after they buffed him so they had no choice but to nerf him.

Rumbles always been a powerful champion with his passive if you built correctly. With his passive, he could purposely overheat giving himself almost one third extra AD than what he has. With his, he is one of the most powerful Melee Bruisers in the game. Hypothetically, he had 400 AD. He get an extra 120 from his passive + 240 damage from his Flamespitter. That's insane damage, exceeding that of anyone else in the Bruiser catagory.

He's always been pretty strong.

With the recent surge of malphite players AS WELL AS his huge Q "fix" (i just call it huge buff), things just came together at the right time and people suddenly realized how strong Rumble is.
