Why not Linux instead? When will there be a Linux client?

Quick question. How does the performance compare with using bootcamp? I used to play SC2 on ultra quality under bootcamp but could only get decent framerates on medium settings in OSX.

Can't wait be in my native OS and not have to hold down the pesky option key when booting! Thanks!

We were a (relatively) small team. The teams started as two people, and eventually ramped up to 5. We also didn't want to release the Mac client until it was on par with the Windows client, and felt like it belonged on Mac and wasn't just a port.

I play at Very High settings for most things (lower quality shadows, except on TT) and have no performance problems. By which I mean my framerate is always at least 20 and usually closer to 100.

I'm on one of the generation's MacBook Pros (non-Retina). (Mid 2012 generation)

If we currently play on bootcamp, is it still worth trying this out x: ?

There is a known compatibility issue with 10.8.0 and Adobe Air so you'll have to use at least 10.8.1.

We always recommend running the latest software update for your version as well to get the latest graphics drivers and bug fixes. Hence 10.6.8/10.7.5/10.8.2 are recommended.
