"Could not load direct3d" Common issue.

Greetings,

When I try to open my League of Legends after installing the game itself, I receive the oh-so common issue "Could not load direct3d". One notable piece of information is that I had my hard drive wiped about a week ago, and when I rein-stalled league, this problem arose when I came to open it to do all of the patch updates.

Please also note that before I came here and posted, I have tried nearly everything I've seen on both http://support.microsoft.com and the league's own forums here. From doing this, I've found out that this is likely my problem:

Here was a possible solution I found. Make sure you follow all these steps. I did some research on "Direct3D Acceleration" This is the article I found:

i will tell you exactly how to fix this issue in all versions of Windows xp/7/vista

DO THIS

1.go to your start menu

2.type in update

3. click on Windows Update

4. Update EVERYTHING

5 restart computer

6 Open League Of Legends and Defend DEMACIA
