If they didn't want to do that, they could still play on the NA-English server

Do you feel there should be an IP block or their own server?

Except the people that open these kind of threads ask for this sort of stuff.

And, if I had to guess, most of these threads get opened immediately after a player played a game with a Spanish-speaker.

How many of you, that are claiming to play with Spanish-speakers in tons and tons of games, have actually kept a record of how many times someone on your team was actually speaking Spanish? And of those times, are you also keeping a record of how many times the language barrier was ACTUALLY an issue... this means you were trying to tell that player to do something and they were not understanding and doing something different?

Meanwhile, are you also keeping track of times where someone you KNOW speaks English is ignoring the in game chat?

This issue is drastically over-inflated.

I come from Central America, and I agree with this post. A new server should be made for Latin America in order to facilitate communication and cultural differences. I have noticed that sadly, most of my latin-american colleagues are often trolls, and I am quite disapointed for giving us a bad example.

You're missing his point. Lol

Back to the topic, I can understand that language barriers can make it very difficult. I have had a hard time understanding what they are trying to ask of me sometimes, but usually if you over use pings and use as little words as possible. Like if they need to stick together ping them and say group up, or if you need them to ward ping the area and say "Sona Ward" They know they are playing Sona, and they know what wards are. They might not speak english but they aren't stupid. (well some of them are, but I've seen more stupid people who actually speak english.)

Hello

In some countries, the IP's are blocked as we have provided them a server near their vicinity. Some will use 3rd party programs to gain access to the game which is something out of our control at the moment.

It would be good idea to post this on the forums to get constructive feedback from fellow summoners and Reds.

Warmest Regards,

What about a compromise?

Instead of making a new server, people can click a language preference inside of their account, and RIOT could implement this into searching for matches.

^ This.

I suggested this the last time I saw this subject pop up and it's a perfect solution. Literally checkbox languages, and you're golden.

The fact is that the language barrier has been an issue for me numerous times. You can moan all you want about how the people claiming it's an issue are just over-representing the problem, but honestly if they've had a number of games that were ruined because of it -- and I have -- then it's an issue worth discussing. I don't like playing with Spanish players (unless they speak English) because I need more direct communication than pings most of the time. It's never an issue if they're good players -- and for all I know many of the skilled silent players I've played with were actually Spanish-speakers -- but if they're not good or just don't synergize well with the team, then direct and detailed communication is often necessary. Or maybe I just suck too ( =P ), but if that's the case, it doesn't really matter; unskilled players are just as valid of players.

IP banning the Spanish-speakers is retarded, another server would work, but just allowing players to filter by language would be friggin' bliss. Perfect solution for literally everyone.

LOL you DO realize that USA=North America right? You DO realize that some mmorpgs actually LOCK their IP's to country specific right? Because of problems like this.

Ill say it again..plain and simple
Its a NORTH AMERICAN server. English is North America's native language..therefore English should be required and anything else should be considered a "failure to communicate" which is reportable.

Not sure if trolling, but I'm going to feed anyhow.

Geography 101: North America = Canada, USA, and Mexico, from north to south. The three (yes three) primary languages spoken are English, Spanish, and French by number of speakers.

If Riot wanted to make a server for Spanish speakers, that would be fine. But hating on people simply for not speaking your language is nothing short of bigotry. I've met some not so friendly Latin American players, but I've met some not so friendly English speakers too. I've also met plenty of friendly players from both groups.

Skill has nothing to do with the language you speak. Assuming otherwise is also bigotry.
