So, how about changing Blitz's grab cost?

Well, it's been talked about a bit elsewhere, so i figured i'd make a dedicated thread to it.

What if Blitz's grab was changed from being a flat cost to being a % max mana cost? A rather significant one, say 25%-35% somewhere around there. If he hits a champ, he gets the full cost refunded (and if he hits a minion/monster/pet, we'll say he gets half back)

This would solve some rather sizable issues with Blitz's hook being too much of a tacit threat and having too high of reward for very little risk, while not actually touching the move's damage/range/cd/mechanics.

Think about it... if the risk of missing is chunking down your own mana heavily, you're gonna make sure your hooks count. Especially when giving up masses of your own mana means losing out on your tankiness from your passive.

Upping the cost while keeping it flat doesn't really have an effect on the nature of the spell or how little risk it has... it just means he can use it *slightly* less frequently and just as haphazardly. In the end, Blitz grabs mana in part just to be tanky, upping his costs doesn't do much but hurt his first couple levels.

But if it's %max mana? Well, you could minimize the cost and make the spell forgiving of misses by getting mana regen and keeping your max mana low, but then your tankiness is out the window. Or you could build up your mana for tankiness, but you've gotta be sure to land your hooks or else you're effectively giving up health. Either way, you're taking risk and making sacrifice, something Blitz knows little of right now

So Blitz shouldn't be encouraged to buy flat mana?

Adding a refund mechanic to rocket grab is a horrible idea.

Not necessarily. He shouldn't be encouraged to make haphazard hooks. If he *lands* hooks, he doesn't have to worry about using any mana at all. If he misses hooks, then he pays the price in mana (and therefore tankiness)
