The only real advantages a console has over a PC it's plug and play simplicity and the fact that everyone playing has the same hardware specs. Aside from certain peripherals with turbo and programmable macros, everyone is playing on equal ground.
Another advantage is that you can easily have multiple players on a console with a single screen, even for online play, thanks to games and hardware being designed with that in mind. I can't imagine trying to play a split screen deathmatch on my pc.
That said, I prefer PC's for the control and functionality. I can do and find whatever I want with it, in- and outside of gaming.
