Also, Asia wins EVERYTHING where clicking is involved. It's just a fact, stop trying to fight it.

Getting sponsored by the Korean equivalent of AMC also helps too.

4.) In those regions if you're a pro gamer you're a celebrity, if you're a pro gamer in America, you're a neck beard :/.

This is nothing new. The eastern world dominates pretty much every esport there is (Look up tourney results from other games like sc2, tf2, etc).

The difference is they treat esports as legitimate sports, with air time on national tv and huge promotions sponsored by well funded teams. Take complexity for example, they pay their gamers rediculous salaries, who then go and promote/play leagues, and all this allows for tons of public exposure. So to answer your question simply, the western world hasn't given esports enough time to be a big business yet.

Don't fret though! Barcrafts are on the rise on the west coast! We just need a few more years for people to start seeing esports as an actual sport, and not just something nerds do to pass the time.

Yeah, in the U.S. when I tell anyone about E-Sports, their just like "Who wants to watch people play a game, that would be so boring?". Then I'm like "And what exactly are you doing when you watch football? Watching people play a game?"

The problem is simple,

We are comparing a country with a population of about 300 million to countries with populations over a Billion.

Short version, person for person other countries gamers outnumber our gamers 10 to 1. So there are more people playing games in asia than in the US so it makes more sense to make money on ESports on asia than in the US.

We don't have enough gamers to launch the sport as fast as asia.

If I was a millionair, say "200 million" I'd build a 10 story apartment complex (3 bed room apartments) and have multiple PC gaming lobbies in it. They I would let people try out for league teams and WOW guilds where they would get free room and board, health insurance, dental, vision, vacation time, and play 40 hours a week.

That would be sweet.

Scenarios like this is all the US needs to really turn around in ESports. Someone needs to organize it, set standards, and make it so a Pro Gamer can make as much money as a Quarterback.

Imo, it's just as entertaining, and it's cheaper to fund. You don't need to fly the team all over the world to go play in X Stadium. You don't need to buy a stadium. All you need is 5 laptops with an internet connection and to pay the players.
