Quinci was born into a very wealthy and respected family. He showed adept talent in musical performance, which his mother recognized immediately. He was pushed hard by her, enabling him to master nearly all the vital orchestral instruments. In his early teens he began to compose his own music. He was an instant sensation, a true prodigy. He was hailed through all of Valoran as the greatest composer that had ever lived, and that would ever live.
Until one day, he received a letter from his mother, Lestra Buvelle. She had adopted a young girl that she wanted him to come home and meet at once. Quinci has very mixed emotions about this, so he did as she bid. She was a young, mute girl named Sona. Him and Sona got along very well. However, things began to go down hill from there. After a short time, Sona had stolen his spotlight, the public seemed to completely forget about him. However, what was worse was that she had stolen his mother's love too.
Jealousy had gotten the best of him. He decided to go and see Sona at the Fields of Justice, to sort things out. Along the way though, he came across a mysterious salesmen dressed in purple. The Salesman claimed to have once owned a shop filled with magical artifacts, and that he had items that could make your every wise come true. Quinci scoffed at him, but he was intrigued by a horrid looking mask. Quinci had to have this mask, so he made an offer the salesman couldn't refuse and made his way with the mask.
On the night of his arrival, he changed into his finest suit. He decided to put on the mask to, inorder to surprise Sona. When the mask touched his face, immense pain surged from the mask all throughout his body. He fell to the floor, scratching and pulling at the mask, trying desperately to get it off. He felt his bones shift as he pulled on the mask. His own limbs began to stretch.
When the pain finally stopped, was a twisted and stretched image of his former self. However, he felt empowered. He could feel himself manipulating dark forces around him. So, he stammered slowly to the league, to finally get his wish.
