Quick question, would you consider Vi a tanky dps, or a melee ADC?

Also, the only real way to help them is to give them either better survival, or real CC. Jax is a good example, because he has dodge AND a stun. Trynd also works, as he has a slow, a dash, a heal, and an ult that makes him invulnerable to death for a short window. All fiora has is a 1 auto attack sheild and an ult that makes it DIFFICULT to hit her, but not impossible. They already said they don't want to just add cc to those champs, and apparantly they hate sustain. So it really is no wonder that they are not viable.

Any champion can become viable if the player behind the champion knows their strengths and weaknesses and knows how to build and play them properly.

I can kick ass in lane as trynda, but when teamfights start, and i get focused, im pretty much ****ed, same goes to the other melee ADC

increase tryndamere's ult duration at higher levels, say 5/7/9. This way it's actually useful in teamfights, but not noobstompy and anti fun in lane.

Master yi needs magic immunity while ulting, but also nerf the attack speed bonus to make it balanced, and it cannot refresh itself(can still refresh his other 3 skills tho)

GP isn't an AD carry. He's a bruiser that scale with crits.
Sion is the fourth AD carry.

If, and when the 4 AD carry becomes magically balanced, Fiora will be significantly stronger than the other 3 by a very wide margin.
She's currently broken, but not op. The fact she's unviable just hides the ridiculous strenghts of her kit.

I don't really think fiora isn't viable. She is fine imo. Don't know about the others b/c I don't play them.

Basically melee carries are extremely hard to balance.

Carries are balanced around dealing damage while being somewhat vulnerable. The issue with melee carries is that they need to have ways of sticking around to deal damage.

The problem is that melee characters have to be in a dangerous position to deal damage. Most melee carries have mechanics that are supposed to help them either deal tons of damage quickly or live long enough to deal damage. None of the mechanics on melee characters adequately make up for the positioning disadvantage and inherent tankyness doesn't actually work. Defensive stats are multiplicative and end up making the champion better as a bruiser.

So basically, the only way for melee AD carries to become viable is for Riot to give them truly ridiculous mechanics in order to deal with the inherent terribleness of needing to be in melee range to deal damage. Riot has tried to do that on every single melee carry type champion(can't die, huge steroids, temporary tankyness, becoming temporarily untargetable, ect), but they haven't really succeeded yet.

Melee champs just have a hard time in the role. They do make good assassins, but that isn't really the same.
