So ive posted this numerous times in the help/support forum only to not see one riot human reply

my account was hacked this saturday.. sent in tickets.. No help is honestly being thrown my way so this is my last ditch effort before i just have my parents call the credit card company and claim fraud.

So

Saturday.. played game with some friends as blitzcrank On summoner name Hauntling on NA server... meanwhile after game i went to go grab some food.. when i sit back down at my pc it says your username has been logged on elsewhere.. WTF? so i immediately know something isnt right because first off.. NO ONE should have this password/infos so i go ahead make a support ticket because i forgot the email i used on that account because it was a smurf that i didnt really care about.. whatever kept on with my day. to me it was like oh okay whatever.. i guess i lost that smurf account.... go to check my email.when.. all of a sudden my raging stepfather comes into my room Asking why 100$. has been taken out of his account from Riot games..

Wait.. it gets better.. 2 minutes later ANOTHER 100$ is taken out of my parents account as he is sitting with me in front of the computer...

What do we do?
Try to call riot.. NO WORKING PHONE SERVICE.. send in support tickets? We get robots in return..

So basically my parents left it to me for a few days to see if riot could fix it.. this IS my final post about this and if it doesn't get resolved by tomorrow i will be calling the card company for them myself for fraud and also will be contacting the BBB about this fail of a company...

BTW.. in all the support tickets.. they keep asking me the same exact questions that i keep providing the SAME EXACT ANSWERS for...

MY IP DOESNT CHANGE.. I dont use proxys.. nothing.. i KNOW you can see patterns in Log ins/off so how hard can it possibly be to see that someone logged onto my account.. and spent 200$? Its not hard.. you guys just really DO NOT WORK for your customers...

how did the hacker know the credit card number? im pretty sure the hacker wasnt somewhere far away. he may br someone who u know. anyways gl on that. hope u get ur acc back.

Because Riot uses a local save system on your account that saves any credit cards you've used on it. You can remove it but it also quickly leads to problems if you get hacked.

I'm pretty sure it only saves the information per computer, not on Riot's servers. And even if it did, you still would have to know the security code for the card to actually make a purchase.

Don't download so much porn next time that you give someone an easy way to put a backdoor on your system.

I'm coming to the defense of Riot since I have never had a problem with them. I have had to re-install League on a computer, upgraded the OS not due to anything Riot related. After the install I open my account and it does not have any saved card information, there goes that assumption. Next if you tried to randomly guess the CCV (three digits on back) you would have that card locked in a matter of minutes. Hell I work in construction management and therefore move around quite a bit. I accidentally entered the wrong zip code at a gas station and my card got suspended until I called and explained the issue. So there goes your theory that they guessed the CCV.

Now I will try to help you out. Do you have any kind of antivirus program? When was the last time you scanned? Have you gone to any websites out of the ordinary? Have you gone to any video streaming sites of questionable legality (Not porn but things like TV Shows that are not on Hulu)? Next would be that someone you know is using your parents card info since they have access to both your account and your parents card info. If this is a legitimate concern then I do feel sorry for you but do not think that reporting Riot for you or your parents not having proper security on your computers will solve this issue. You need to have better sense when using the internet. I do not know how many times I have had to help my relatives because they suddenly lost control of their credit card account due to online negligence. Especially since a little scan with their antivirus program removed two Trojans stealing their information.

I wish you the best of luck in regaining control of your account and your parents luck in reverting the charges on their card.

i have kaspersky and AVG.. there is no viruses.. matter of fact.. the ONLY THING INSTALLED ON THIS PC OTHER THAN MS OFFICE IS LEAGUE LOL..

So the trojan /virus thing is out of the question..

Also stop being a fanboy for a company who doesnt really even care about theyre customers. how do i know this? they dont have not ONE human support specialist..

IF they have my credit card info.. why would they not go spend it on amazon or elsewhere? you sound stupid dude.. HURR DURR imma go spend money on somebodys creditcard on THEYRE account which they can get back.. LOLOL

I am sorry if you took offense to anything I have said. I am defending them because of the simple fact that they are an internet game company. When dealing with companies on the internet it is common for them to get many bad reviews. This is because only a few people will post good remarks about them as it takes time to do. While on the other hand posting a negative remark is much more common, just look at the General Discussion Board and the Better Business Bureau. While I know it is hard to accept I am sure Riot is working diligently to solve all player reports of account loss and various other issues. I am also not trying to insinuate that you are stupid, I was just asking the standard question that I would ask anyone who is having computer issues. I noticed that in all of your posts you never mentioned having an antivirus program only that

I am taking from the tone that you wrote this in your parents also have the same antivirus installed on their computers. The other thing to take into account is have your parents noticed any other odd charges. I am sure when they saw RiotGames that hit a red flag in their heads but they might not of noticed other charges more common. Also if you are stating that the alleged criminal is stupid by using the stolen card information on just account purchases on your account then it would be no problem for your credit card company to just revert the charges and change the card number by reporting it as lost or stolen. I also take it that you no longer have access to your account in question otherwise I am sure you would of just changed the password and removed any card information from that account.

I noticed that no where in your post you mention my stupidity in this issue about being able to guess the CCV of the card in question. Since that point still stands my statement of either a person who knows you or some form of virus took that information as you typed it in also still stands. I am not an expert in credit card transaction but no company keeps this on file and is sent via an encrypted connection to the credit card company for verification before payment is authorized, this is one of the reasons that transactions may sit in the pending category in online banking.

While I am truly sorry that you are dealing with this your continued hostility towards the online community limits my willingness to help you. I hope that you resolve this and that your parents are not to angry with you.
