Move to the folder:
League of Legends/Config/
Delete the file 'game.cfg' and 'input.txt'
Relaunch the game, try to spectate someone.
IF that still doesn't work, move to these two folders:
League of Legends/RADS/projects/lol_game_client and lol_game_client_en_us
Delete both of them.
Then run the repair option in the launcher, by clicking the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner.

Did you change (uninstalled/downgraded/upgraded) your graphic card drivers 2 days ago?

You can always try to install the latest drivers for your graphic card model from its manufacturer page.
Yea its the same with me!?!?! I just got a brand new computer and it is about a month old. Now I cant play league anymore?

i have an HP pavilion desk top, cost 1100 with 8g ram and 3.5 gig dedicated graphics card, all pretty new. Plays lol and many other games no probs, but now I get this error every single game after the latest patches. never had an error in lol before.
If I do the suggested fix above it fixes it for the next game only, then back same error again after that. Riot plz respond and plz sort this nonsense out

I tried all the things in this thread and none of them worked. My issue was when I started a game, it randomly said "Graphics card does not support shader 2.0" and then after I rebooted and tried to open the launcher... it just immediately closed out. No error or crash.
Well... I have recently changed graphics cards and/or drivers. The original driver wasn't removed properly and LoL apparently got confused halfway through my matches as to which settings/driver/card to follow? I have no idea. But here is what I did:

- I uninstalled what I could from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs that had to do with the old driver.
- I then went and rolled back my new driver (so that way at the end, I could update it and have fresh stuff).
- I used Advanced Uninstaller Pro to check for more drivers to be uninstalled and also had it fix my registry. It caught a lot of other things which I'm sure helped the overall health of my computer. Download it here: http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-Un...-10069986.html
- I then rebooted the computer.
- I updated to the newest driver for my new card.
- Rebooted again.
- Tried LoL with great success!

Hope this helps any of you left struggling. The LoL client sucks a lot and this is the 2nd time I've had to jump through hoops to get it working. *sigh*
Good luck!

my game bugged out on me earlier today. game just froze and wouldn't start back up so I un-installed and re-installed it to fix that problem. loaded up the game again, played one game and it worked perfectly fine, but literally right after that game I went and tried to spectate someone's game and then I started getting this shader 2.0 error. Now I can't even play a game or spectate or anything.

What happened between me playing that one game and trying to spectate something afterwards? I didn't change anything, it just all of a sudden decides it doesn't want to support my graphics card anymore for no reason?
