I think you missed his point. That being, Yi can actually do that.tanking the tower for potentially more enemies as well.

That's.. How you win as AP Yi, too.

You go in when you know you're going to get a kill.


Yi can do it easier since he doesn't rely on skillshots, but a good AP Tristana is way better in most situations.

Eh if you have 40% CDR, not hard with CDR boots+DFG+masteries then even an assist will allow you to shave off 5s of a 6s CD. A DFG+Alpha strike is typically half someones HP if not more, makes it easy to setup that first kill/assist to start the snowball. Once you get that 1 kill or assist you can do a second alpha strike which is typically going to be more damage than most APs and if other enemies start to fall... that's when you get the pentas.
