I've been playing DDR/ITG and Pump it Up for about 10 years now. Organizing and competing in tournaments for about 7 years. I bought a Pump it Up machine last year. (Currently running Pro 2!)

I guess you could say I kinda sorta like dance games. =p

Actually, I picked up my machine for $1500 (from a distributor even!), so its not as bad as you think.

If you're really interested in one, keep an eye on ebay and maybe craigslist depending on where you live. I see machines going for 3k and less all the time now.

Arcades are closing left and right and people are scooping the machines up. I'd say almost half of the competitive PIU community owns or knows someone who owns a machine now.

I'd buy an ITG machine, but I live 3rd floor in a condo complex.

I almost considered taking out a student loan to buy one. Then I decided to buy a car instead.

Should have gone with the DDR machine, imo.

You can always detach the pads from the cabinet and ride them like a scooter. lolol

Well, in that picture there actually aren't any buttons on the machine yet. Until Pump it Up Pro came out, song selection and everything was done with the pad.

I haven't gotten around to cutting my the front panel of my machine open yet to install my button panel, you can see it sitting on the side in this video. Eventually It'll look nice and pretty.

Also, ignore the NES controllers stuck to the front panel. It was something I had attempted to rig up to work with Stepmania. =p
