Whenever i win a game i gain about 9-10 elo, however when i lose i usually lose twice the amount i win 16-18 elo. First of all how is this fair, second why do i even lose so much, third is it only me or does this happen to other players?

Sometimes you get paired against players who are expected to lose according to the system (their team has a lower ELO score average than yours) so when you win, you gain less but if you lose, you lose more elo.

Thats something i've never understood either. I see people with 1800 ELO that barely have a winning record but when I do the math with the ELO I gain and lose on wins and losses they would be about 700-800. I'm sure there is a logical explanation, I just don't know what it is lol
