Nvidia and AMD, the standards by which everything else is judged as garbage (usually spot on).

Because the GTX 690 is a dual GPU card, fairly low production, and a waste of money. For the cost of a GTX 690 you can buy two GTX 680's that will outperform it. The only benefit to a 690 is if you have a small case and need a dual slot solution, where as a GTX 680 SLi configuration would take 4 slots.

The other thing is, since it is a dual GPU solution, the GTX 690 is dependent on SLi profiles like dual 680's, but you have heat issues over a dual GTX 680 solution. So not only are the GTX 690 cores typically clocked lower than a GTX 680, you don't have the headroom of a 680 for overclocking, due to heat limitations.

To top it off, if you are running an SLi setup with the 680 and you have a card failure, you can default to a single GTX 680 and still game like a boss. Have a single GTX 690 and have a failure? You don't have a card.

The only place nvidia beats amd right now is having the single fastest gpu, 680 is a little faster then a 7970 at stocks.

lol no nvidia drivers have a;ways been better than AMD's, not to mention Physx.

There is middleware that can do what Physx does and more. Not to mention anyone with an AMD card can drop in a second Nvidia card and dedicate it to Physx if it was that big of a deal for them.
