Liandry's honestly seems like a trap item because of that single word "current" which really ruins it's potential. Anyone who's going for killing in a single burst gets nothing out of it. Only useful to AP toons that are devoted to long term poke plans. (sorry Amish but that does mean Teemo) Because the tiny damage on the passive the only time it's actively beneficial is if you're entire game plan is to poke and run over and over till your opponent either goes back or is low enough to die from a single quick combo.

Think the jury is out on the Liandry's passive shred for a lot of APs but the fact that flat penetration is calculated after % based penetration makes the Haunting Guise part of the item more attractive to more AP champions.

Think I can see building Haunting Guise fairly early on Lux (probably after Chalice of Harmony) then completing Liandry's after Athenes and Rabadon's just for a little extra damage. Or maybe after a 3rd completed item like Void Staff or Zhonya's.

As far as Karthus goes, I still think Rod of Ages should be his 1st item and then maybe Haunting Guise to build into Liandry's after completing Rabadon's. Unrelated but think Tear of the Goddess has transformed into a bigger trap than it used to on Karthus following the patch. Makes for a squishy Karthus which doesn't do as much damage because he is not alive as long.
