New MBR: Deals 40 True damage per strike. So it counters armor stacking opponents, instead of HP stacking opponents.

The funny thing is the majority of players would say the above suggestion is overpowered. And yet a MBR versus a 150 MR, 3000 HP target would deal even more damage than that. MBR was always a solid choice, but myths about magic resistance and math made it unpopular. Even better is fact that spending that 4k gold on a LW + BF Sword would offer less effective damage than a MBR in this case, despite rumors that MBR suffered due to lack of armor penetration.

LW + BF Sword : (1-150*0.6)/(150*0.6+100)*(40+45) = 53 effective damage.
MBR : (1-150/(150+100))*(30+0.04*3000) = 60 effective damage.

Myth: MBR was uselss against a high MR tanky target.
Fact: MBR was actually still the highest DPS/gold item.

It was extremely cost ineffective for what it offered which is why it was removed. The stats on it don't really make sense together for most champions, too. It was meant to be anti-tank, yet it honestly barely scratched them. Even with 3% true damage it would have only added little more than 30% of their max health to your damage output over 10 attacks. There are better options.

Like I said, extremely cost ineffective, yet it wasn't exactly apparent to less experienced players and that is why it no longer exists. The line between underpowered and overpowered on an item with a passive like that would be a thin one as well, so buffing it wasn't a good option.

And then the effective damage from LW and BF sword skyrockets when you get other typical ADC items that increase that amount drastically.

I appreciate your post, you do make a good point that it was a "trap" for some players. Thanks for actually explaing your view
