New shop UI assumes everybody uses widescreen monitors

To be fair, if you don't have a widescreen monitor by this point then, you need to be doing something other than complaining about it.

Game designers no longer build around the old CRT or squarescreen designs. This holds true for both PCs and consoles ( for example, Call of Duty for the Ps3 chops part of the menu text off on an older tv - my tv is from around 2002 )

I used to do QA and that violates what Sony calls "Standards". If a game fails a standard it's an instant-fail for the game and you can't publish it on the Playstation. Suppose the CoD squad has the weight to bully through a bit, though. They may have also changed the Standards since I tested last.
