that being said, there is something about watching a female character kick butt in full armor that is actually FULL ARMOR, and not 'full armor' with 92 holes in it.

I wouldn't mind a few armored skins for the ladies

It's significant because they directly profited from sexualizing her.

Is the size of her gauntlets subject to change? I know that her gauntlets is the most distinguished thing about her, but when her gauntlets are as large as blitzcranks I'm worried that the proportions will be off.

The problem isn't that an oversexualized skin for a non-sexualized champion exists. It's the there aren't really very many non-sexualized skins for oversexualized champions. If the road went both ways, I think there wouldn't be as much of an issue.

For instance, I would love a Kat skin that ditched the midriff and mega cleavage in favor of of a more covered look, maybe going for an assassin's creed Ezio-type look. I know my friend loves the Holiday Sona skin because it doesn't look like her boobs are attempting to break free from her and take over the world.

It would also be nice if they maybe added some more sexualized male skins (come on, Unprepared Garen!). I think it's a great avenue for them to provide either a more conservative style, or a more provocative style.
In this particular case, Riven was put into attire that literally symbolized misogyny in North America. What you're talking about sounds a little more sensible than that, so I don't really have a beef with you.

Archers don't usually wear particularly heavy armor.

Though, to note, some "sexualization" is quite fine, especially in skins.

It's actually quite difficult to make a champion completely un-sexy, through they really tried with Urgot.

Ashe's poses are actually quite tame.

Only her outfit is a bit showy, but honestly, real women dress like that. Let alone 'royalty' out on display to the public.

I mean, just look at how real life celebrities and styled 'nobility' dress.

Firefighter Tristana (for example) makes way less sense; she's about blowing stuff up, but that skin is themed around putting out fires.

Treating sexual appeal as a theme seperate from every other aspect of the character is what got us into this every-female-in-media-must-be-super-sexualised mess in the first place. It's just one aspect. To say Battle Bunny Riven completely undermines her character is gross exaggeration.
It really isn't, and it isn't the same as putting Tristana in a fire fighter outfit. I'm kind of impressed that you think it is.

I don't see how you can consider her not "over sexualized", she is as much as any other female champ in LoL (or as little depending on PoV).

It's the same sort of design, and the same graphisms, and the same huge boobs/ass size and so on.

If for you she is different than other female champs, you've got a BIG PROBLEM.

Her Q goes over terrain.

You done good Riot. You done good.

Other than that, she's got the same shtick Jax does: beating things with her feels much, much more violent than it actually is.

And when they release skins like Unprepared Garen they'll start profiting from sexualizing the males too. Only a matter of time.
