Did a quick spreadsheet to demonstrate effect of changes.

Every value there in the columns is armor. GB is Ghostblade, LW is Lastwhisper, Brut is Brutalizer, Cleaver is Black Cleaver. Assuming full penetration rune/mastery page.

So from left to right:
1. Original Armor Value
2. Pre-PreSeason 3 Patch penetration format (% applied last, global aura present, etc.)
2. Pre-PreSeason 3 Patch penetration format (% applied last, global aura present, etc.)
3-6. Cleaver Nerf Patch penetration format (% applied first, global aura removed, etc.)

The three columns all the way on the right are just comparing penetration in the Cleaver Nerf Patch, demonstrating that Cleaver + Whisper is the best combo of 2 penetration items at every armor level. Obviously this isn't that black and white because Cleaver needs to be stacked first, you might want the HP on Cleaver earlier, you might want to act as an armor shred bot for your team before buffing up your own damage, etc.

The columns on the bottom are just comparing Pre-PreSeason 3 Brutalizer rush vs. Cleaver Nerf Patch brutalizer rush. Poor Talon, his early game was apparently gamebreakingly OP on the damage side.

- All in all, these changes combined weaken bruisers/AD Casters damage before they get Last Whisper. If you are comparing Ghostblade/Lastwhisper builds between then and now, you will experience minor damage increase (about 10%ish at the most) up to 160ish armor where the damage is about equal, and then you will lose damage if they get any more armor.

- Notably, with Cleaver/Whisper you will do true damage up to 75ish armor; with Cleaver/Whisper/Ghostblade you will do true damage up to 120ish armor; with Cleaver/Whisper/Ghostblade/Brutalizer you will do true damage up to 140ish armor.

- Fun fact, Olaf with Cleaver/Whisper/Ghostblade will do true damage to up to 175ish armor. After that, the effectiveness of every point of armor is cut in half, so if you have 400 armor, it gets reduced to 100 (well 95 but i like round). He goes from doing 20% of his listed physical damage to 50% of his listed physical damage. That's a 2.5x damage increase from penetration alone. If you want to go annoying Zimike Janna/Lulutank hunting, go Ghostblade + Ghostsummoner Olaf and camp speedshrines.

Does this take the Aura in account or does it assume it's removed?, anyways thank you

Yeah, I triplechecked all the numbahs. Aura, masteries, runes accounted for. If you find a mistake, you can just download this and fix the formula in the offending column.

If you do that, you can also use that little line on the bottom right to calculated how much damage you gained or lost based on the armor penetration difference.

Konfetarius do iassume that Arpen can't take armor to negative numbers and take said engative numbers like 0 armor?, as far as i know only armor reduction can get you to negative armor, and that only happens with, Nasus, Corki and Wukong.. maybe trundle.. (god i can't understand that ultimate)

edit: Double checked the numbers....still strong as hell ._.

Penetration doesn't actually reduce below zero, only flat reduction does.
