its just like the void and shadow isle..

void is "PLANETS CONSUMED INTO VOID" shadow isles is just.....isles!!

its actually been hinted that the Shadow Isles are part of a different dimension.

here is what i think and keep in mind this is only an interesting theory.

The void hungers and consumes way beyond its ability to sustain itself it is basically life run rampant almost like a cancer. The shadow isles is the force of death a force that swells when creature die. The way i see it if the void didn't essentially overwhelm the shadow isles fighting a war would eventually swell the shadow isles ranks with the resurrected corpses of the undead and with undead void beast killed in battle and then raised again on the shadow isles side. The shadow isles would eventually become unstoppable in a long drawn out war of attrition. Also a note while it does say in the lore that the void has vast armies on other worlds it does not say there are creatures bigger than cities or who eat other planets. It also doesn't say that the void beasts can eat any magic because if they could how would the magic of runeterra banish them in the first place? It says there is some ancient and terrible stuff going on but assuming that the void has whole world eaters is a big leap.

Tldr
void if the rush and overwhelm (short game), shadow isles in a war of attrition (long game)

zerg rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well" vast armies" implies the void conquered worlds with numbers not through super huge monsters. The lore says they contain his presence to the league of legends but not his size although this is debatable. I mean its not unreasonable to assume he has an upper limit in growth just as EVERYTHING has a limit. Reading the lore it seems less like the Void is sending scouts its more like there are a bunch of monsters constantly scratching and pushing at the barrier to get through and only a few are strong, clever, or lucky enough to find a loophole and get to this side.

This doesn't seem like the case, because Kogmaw's lore points out that he was drawn to malzahar, and Malzahar's lore points out that he is speaking for some Great deity of the void. Cho' gath, and Khazix seem to be the two who aren't apart of this, and just wish to gain a quick snack. As for who would win I'd say The void, only because it doesn't seem like everyone who dies becomes of the shadow isles, and even if they did it seems like the deity from the void is much stronger then anything that is on the isles. Lastly the requiem would never be finished for the majority of champs who come from the void are equipped with a silence
Kass, Malz, Cho'gath

Side note: kind of think the void and the shadow isles have a silent agreement

Kass isn't from the void, only affected by it.

Yes, but it seems his powers come from the void, Malzahar is another one not from the void, but he to gained powers from it. I feel Silence is a basic skill given to most of the void members of high inteligence.

Alright, this is my final serious post in this thread, attempting to legitimately answer a serious question. If you lot intend to troll each other, so be it.

The Void is, essentially, 'corruption' - its point of origin is unknown, but over the millenia of its existence, it consumed and corrupted numerous planets, changing their inhabitants and absorbing said planet's energy to continue its onslaught. The creatures it corrupted have evolved, and now make the main 'assault force'. Despite the way it seems, Void is an organized entity, and has centralized control - the primary goal being 'consumption', as in, absorbing the planets' energy resources, not simply destruction. The Voidspawn that we have seen on Runeterra are the smallest species - consumption of a world is a tedious process, and the first ones arriving have to guarantee that there will be no interference.

However, Runeterra is a special case - ever since the first Void appearances in times of distant past, their assaults have been defended, and their dilemma is that they cannot increase the intensity. Runeterra is in an unstable state, that has to be maintained - of course, they can dispatch one of the gargantuan monstrosities that have their little toe the size of Summoner's Rift, but that will simply destroy the planet. If you are hunting for food, you don't shoot the boar with a rocket launcher - and that's why we haven't seen anything larger than Cho'Gath and some Void carriers so far.

The Shadow Isles are a dark and mysterious place, that is true - sure, they are undead, they have a huge ass spider, and that 'King' figure of theirs; but are they really more powerful than the Void? Can this spider thing defeat Cho'Gath, if he was not restricted by the League, and allowed to grow to his full size? Being undead means that your soul is being held in place and bound to an already decayed body (or even without the body), through some magic means; but since the Void eats magic for breakfast, how many chances do inherently magical creatures have against anti-magic assailants?

And that, mind you, is in a scenario where the Void will still aim to conserve Runeterra. If it's, as OP said, a fate-of-the-world war, the Void will absolutely devastate both the Isles and the entire planet. It's still alive just because the Void decides it should be.

There's more Shadow Isles champions than that.

On a side-note, a Void-Shadow Isles hybrid would be truly terrifying. Either a Voidborn dies and is resurrected in the Shadow Isles, or an undead spirit enters the Void and succumbs to its corruption.

Nocturne might be just that. He feeds on the fear of mortals in their dreams and he is a terrifying (not sure about undead)being. NOCTURNE WILL BRING UPON THE ETERNAL DARKNESS ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!

While I understand, and appreciate, what you're saying, you seem to be forgetting a few things. They have a large, and powerful, Spider beast, a Leader that is similar to Koggy's Daddy, the "Lich King" if you will, and the advantage of being undead.

Whilst the shadow isles have all that was mentioned, The Void has the oldest and quite possibly the most powerful Creature to take part in the events that unfold on the Fields of Justice, Cho'Gath. While all other creatures who threaten Runeterra are held to the Fields of Justice by the summoners magic, Cho'Gath is too powerful for the summoners to contain.

Cho'Gath is not restrained by the League mind you and if he desired he can wreck the Shadow Isles himself...
