Near Barbas

The Shade of Koroza looked upon the battle between the angel, paladin, and Barbas. Now there was another dragon...one that wrought poison breath upon the city. Whether the heroes would survive such an attack was unknown to him...not that he cared really. He would be just as happy to see them all die. "I've found your target, host. And he has help, but nothing too concerning...oh and he just murdered an angel."

Claude had seen Barbas' help it was an undead dragon, while the angel's death was not good news...he knew that would just be one more death he would take vengeance for. He barked orders to the guards when he saw the dragon, "Get the civilians out of here! Someone go inform Delmgar of what is going on here!" Many of the guards nodded and did as they were told, while Claude made his way down a nearby alley. He felt the shade draw back into him very quickly, and it was then his own shadow came to consume him. A different figure would reappear in his place.

The figure stood a foot taller easily dwarfing even the tallest men. Its left hand had only three fingers, which were the size of a small dragon's talons, the talon at the end of each seemed to be dyed a permanent blood red as if they had been soaked in blood for centuries. The visible left arm was pitch black, except for veins that glowed a blood red color that ran up the entire arm to the shoulder. The skin and veins continued to the upper left area of the chest and back. Within that chest area was a maw that grinned at whoever would see it, and would open wide as if to bite on anyone who came too close for comfort. A sickly undeveloped wing sprouted from the figure's back, the bone structure could be clearly seen. While this creature had wings...it most certainly could not fly.

That is the most anyone would be able to see as the rest of the figure's body is covered by battered azure blue full-plate armor. In the figure's right hand it carried a large greatsword that looked to be made of crystalized blood, but it was no less deadly with that feature. The full helmet the creature wore had only a slit so the victim of wearer could only see the creature's red eyes. Without a word the creature leaped onto the rooftop clearing them with a few strides. Eventually the creature had made its way down to the alley to see Hilde, and Phantom in combat with Barbas.

"Don't dawdle now...they might kill him before you have a chance to. Be a shame to let my power get to waste.

A demonic aura flared up as the creature jumped down in front of Barbas, causing the ground to crack further due to the sheer weight of the being. It rose to its full height before pointing one bloody talon at Barbas, "Mine!" The creature roared as it lunged forward with its greatsword aimed to pierce Barbas' ribcage.

Krizar City

Fulgriels arrows were next to unoticed to the behemoth undead dragon, Ratharius. It continued its torment with indiscriiminant destrtuction as claws tore through roofs of buildings, and the toxic gas flooded the streets. The decayed head roared once more as a faint light glowed in the mouth of the skeletal. A great red sphere quickly formed before being projected into a tall clock tower - blowing it into debirs.

Below the soldiers of Krizar were frantically escorting the citizens out of the city as quickly as possible. Ratharius ignored them, as if they were no more than ants. He just seemed to be there to cause as much damage as physically possible. And the horror he unleashed, was a great deal indeed..

Barbas?

As the strange creature landed before Barbas, he found himself smiling. It was at the same time that Tiamat was truely unveiling his power, swaying the inner darkness in Barbas - awakening the power that lay dormant in the truly chaotic, evil Dark Knight. On the his bear arms, and head where his skin was visible one would see his skin begin to ripple like something were moving beneath it. He keeled over in pain just before the Creature Claude lunged.

"...Guh... YAAAA! uh.... AAAAAGHHH!" Barbas was strugglignt o hold his sword, much less stay on his feet. His eyes rolled back in his head. As Claude thrust with his massive sword, he'd find that the green light cascading the city would also be shielding Barbas. The sword pierced the barrier, sending an outward blast of chaotic energy at the posessed Claude, sending him flying back.

"H-HELP... ME!!" Barbas leaned forward, collapsing on his knees now and gripping the collar of his armor tightly with both hands. He began to break and bend the steel with his bare hands to pull off the metal curaiss. It gave easily under his now power, whatever it was. His eyes were wide, black, and filled with a mix of fear and undeniable rage. Marks began to frm around his eyes - bright red marks that stretched all across his face, his hair was far more blood colored, skin almost looking charred. The marking took to this upper torso soon, twisting around his arms and neck, forming runic symbols. "By... the... GODS! IT HURTS!!"

Hilde saw the new enemy before them, and once more pressed her squire with the task of leading the people of Krizar to safety. It had been a long night, and without even able to rest from the first battle, was now pressed into action once again.

“Protect the civilians, find them cover from this breathe attack.” Hilde said, her commands clear and stirring. Marlena picked up Hilde’s banner mounted on a spear, and went into the city to find the best route away from this madness. The weariness in her arms left, and in its place urgency.

The confused and panicked people and soldiers needed only see Hilde’s squire to have direction to follow. At her command, the officers rally the regular soldiers to form lines to cover the people’s retreat, leaving the combat to the veterans and champions. Fleeing from a flying apocalypse was a much easier order than attacking it.

Hilde saw that Ratharius had to wait, one of the angels attempting to buy them time and catch its attention- thus her gaze firmly settled on Barbas. As the ground shifted unsteadily, Hilde balanced herself with the training and power of the Four Waves style, her footing remaining sure and true, traversing the difficult terrain with deceptively easy hops and leaps. She made her way to the fallen one, as Claude and his personal demons made battle with him.

Then his transformation begun and it was clear to Hilde that this invasion drew so many parallels to her experiences. By Claude’s own darkness, he had allowed the powers of the outside a means to invade the world. He now begged for aid, the selfish, pitiful soul- where had he been moments ago when Ricca begged of him?

“Let the purgation begin.” Hilde said, channelling a fury as she brought out her Vindicator Spear. Barbas was now more abomination than man, and required the heavy blows of a dedicated holy weapon. She mourned the loss of a mortal soul to daemon kind, but only for a moment.

When Empyrean Horrors invade our realm,
our Exorcisms shall hurl them back.
There is no Chaos spawned horror,
which can resist our indomitable anger.

She spoke the words, a line of detestation that stung to the ears of the impure and the outsider. A flash of light ignites the blade of her spear, as she summoned holy power to smite against this blight upon the mortal realm. No more mercy. Hilde had rendered her final judgement, and was wholly committed to slaying Barbas before the he unleashed a far worse horror upon them. She charged, righteous anger suffusing her arms, as she moved in to smite Barbas’s heart, while he was still transforming.

Never did she claim that she was a force of good- she was a force of necessity, to drive back the Demon, the Witch and the Heretic.

Barbas

The shadow warrior watched as the battle turned dire with the corrupted warrior turning into something else. Phantom drew out executioner this time as it was reacting with all of the negative dark energy that the demonic warrior and Barbas had. It was already passively draining the energy into the blade and Bloodstone. With the blade drawn, he pointed at the transforming man and magical chains fly out in an attempt to snare and drain him. Phantom decided to let the paladin take the charge first because he predicted that it was not going to be that easy.

City streets

Meanwhile, the Forsaken Elites walk in a small squad towards Ratharius' location. They pass by panicked citizens and guards. Each warrior wielded a wickedly curved greatsword that was hung on their backs. The aura of shadow magics surround the men giving them a chilling atmosphere. Created for battle, created for balance, created for purpose. These were the Forsaken.

Carnage

"So.................cold......."
The rage demon was far past any source of sustenance he could acquire and the heat that would normally hold his form collapsed quickly again into a small sphere. "Need....blood....need rage...my service if but for a taste."

Tiamat knew where to send this one as his plea for service was indeed genuine. The massive dragon blew fire over the orb and transmitted its contents to a mind that Tiamat had discovered fractured by another, one that held more than enough rage to appease the hunger of the demon.

Carnage awoke in the mind of another.... a knight of all things...he was in a blank space upon which he could leave his mark, it was the very hole Pandora left! She did not give back everything it seemed which opened Barbas to Tiamat's power. The god-dragon had put Carnage in a meaty cage, a powerful one but a cage all the same. Below Carnage in the primal parts of the brain concerned only with survival a deep red furnace of rage bellowed. Its energy was unleashed upon him allowing him to manifest his power within the mortal.

((Barbas now has Carnage inside him which I'd imagine would hurt something awful.))

Pandora formed once again into something vaguely human on a nearby rooftop. Her plans had succeeded better than she hoped. Now she only hoped that the show near her would be entertaining.

Barbas

While the creature was surprised by such a force to knock it back...it did not knock him back far. However, much to creature's dissapointment was that Hilde did not clearly understand what the word "Mine" meant. Of course he did not have much time to complain as Hilde had already leapt past him chanting a holy verse as she lashed out at Barbas.

The demon did not wish to miss out on the fun of killing Barbas, who was letting out cries of agony, which the creature choose to ignore based on what he had done to Ricca. The creature rose the greatsword above its head gripping it with both hands, and brought it down with all its possible might. Barbas was beginning to look like an snack to the creature, and the main course was the dragon above.

Nite looked back to the golem, arms slumped at his side. He opened his hands and his improvised weapons disappeared. He breathed heavily, but the rage was subsiding. "Thank you," he said, "I may call upon your services sooner than I would like, but the coming was will engulf Runeterra, unless I can stop it,"

He turned his back on the golem and walked away, he didn't know why he decided to walk to Demacia, not too far away now. He decided to use this time to think, and to wonder who was truly in control of Nite.

Krizar City

Fulgriel's saw that his arrows did not catch the dragon's attention, and decided to help escort the citizens away from the danger before trying to fight it head-on.

Fornias

Fornias' body had now become hot, glowing pile of dust that burst into flames before disappearing entirely.

Delmegar

The Lord of Krizar City had recieved word of Barbas new betrayal, and along with the report also came news of his change. The Dark Knight was becoming dangerous to not only himself, but to all of those around him. And that included the people of Krizar City. His people. And that, would not do.

As he armed himself with his rune blade, and for once choosing to equip armor which was a rare sight. A third report came in, informing him of a massive undead dragon, tormenting the town nearest him. Barbas would now have to wait. It seemed that there was too much going on for Delmegar and his troops to handle. They would have to evacuate the city immediately... and his next decision, was the worst....

"Guard!" Someone immediately rushed in, bowing. "My lord, what can I do?" As Delmegar fastened the straps to his second gauntlet, he looked to the man. "I want you to order my wife and child out of the city. Agares is to escort them, and never let them out of his sight." The soldier nodded and turned. But Delmegar was not yet finished. "Wait. Tell Agares, he is to take command of the Dark Phoenix. He is to lead the people of Krizar City to Rihem, and rebuild their. He is your new lord until my wife can decide what is best."

"My lord?" Delmegar said nothing else. This was his last act as lord of Krizar City.

Not far from the Port of Krizar City - Logan

"Fascinating, mind blowing, superb indeed, I say!" Logan was shouting as the green light cascaded the city. The night was cloudless, the weather fair and moon full. The green light was sompletely magical in nature, and as he thought this - troops were loading ships with supplies and equipment for the Ionian Expedition. The tide was beginning to rise as well. He had not failed to note Ratharius in the distance, or the cries of his people. But there was only so much Logan could do while organizing this...

Barbas

The combined efforts of Hilde and the creature, formerly, Calude, sent Barbas reeling. He skid backwards but never changed his stance. The runes on his left arm grew brighter and brighter as the night, and his skin continued to darken more. His skin bubble and began to fold over itself, breaking slowly and revealing a hard, spiky surface beneath. It shined like metal.

"This war is already lost for you. It's just a matter of time now before the first Gate opens!" Barbas said in an animialistic voice he did not have before. As he did his eyes literally burst into red flames and his bones started to shift and contort to something larger. When he opened his mouth to scream, his jaw became elongated, revealing great fangs. "Tiamat is coming! This city is lost, this world is lost! You fight... for a losing cause!"

Focused on Barbas, many would fail to notice that the green light covering them would now be blood red. And so to was the moon. The land around them was beginning to swallow itself whole.

In the distance, near the port, horns were blowing, signalling for the people of Krizar to flee by any means necessary. Soldiers with Hilde and the others were becoming frantic, "We need to leave here. Our orders are to evacuate now, everyone! That includes you lot." The soldiers said, but did not wait before fleeing. Whether it was because of Barbas, or the signal, one could speculate.

Nite made it to Demacia without further trouble. He walked through the city, absorbed in his own thoughts. He glanced up to see that he was finally at his destination; his father's old library, which was now Nites. He pulled a key from his satchel and used it to open the door, which he closed behind him. He walked to one of the back shelves and pulled a book out. There was the sound of stone grating on stone and the adjacent shelf moved back and slid aside to reveal a stairway leading down. He took a few tepid steps down the stairs before shaking his head and quickstepping down. He walked quickly through the first chamber as it contained little more than a hat rack. The second room he walked quickly through as well, walking around his fathers tomb. The third room was his destination, he began to sort through the manuscripts, it was chaos, there was no organization whatsoever. Dangerous toxins were next to long-forgotten and hidden beasts of unknown origin, all on hide of course. He found a scroll entitled 'The Three Realms'. He started to open it then changed his mind and stuffed it in his satchel.
