@IronStylus: I am very disappointed in you and the art team.

I feel sorry for female cosplayers.

As a bloke I have a massive range of choice. From teenage twink to weathered old man, from muscle-bound hulk to joe every-man, from lithe and graceful to short and dumpy.

The girls have far fewer options.

1. Skinny with big boobies.
2. Skinny with unfeasably, eye-wateringly huge boobies.
3. Pre-pubescent girl.
4. Avian.

The bit I don't understand is - Riot has the entirety of human imagination to work with here, and yet we still get playboy bunnies in plant/spider/Syndra costumes over and over and over and over.

Even if it's not sexist - it's still downright lazy.

They clearly made that part of the design just for the sake of showing boobs.
Let's face it you hate it because you can't get it. It's not Riot, it's you.
Do you not realize how this world, the entire media and everything is sexualized around you?
And you have problem with boobs on video game characters? Like, Seriously?

And you people are here because there is no other way to let the public hear about your hate towards boobs,
no one will take it seriously, you will just be ignored and people will think you are stupid.
So instead Riot takes the blame because you guys know they are reading the forums.

Indeed lazy.
If you look at darius new skin, that comes along a little uninspired.
I'd recomment LSD

I really wasn't too terribly concerned about Nami because, well, I think she's a cool design.

Did I notice the ruffles revealing some fish flesh? Yeah, I saw it months ago. Did I think it was particularly a good idea to poo-poo the design when it was on its way, when it was gathering momentum, and when it was being passionately worked on by the artist? Hell no. This will be this particular artist's first champion ever in the game. It's her show in that regard. I didn't find the cleavage to be a monumental red flag.

When I saw the concept I was like.. look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think this concept's complete? Wouldn't you think she's the girl, the girl that has, everything? Look at those frills, how they unfold. How many wonders can one mermaid hold? Looking around here you think, sure, she's got everything. She's got flippers and scepters a plenty. She's got dashes and splashes galore. You want complementary curves? She's got twenty. But who cares, no big deal, she wants more.

She wants to be where the players are, she wants to see, wants to see them fighting, thinking inside of those, what do you call them? Oh, brains! Flipping to mid you don't get to far. Supports are required for healing, casting, strolling along on that.. what's that word again? Lane! Up where they toss, up where they stun, up where they lane all day in the sun, wandering free, wished she could be, part of that role.

What would she pay, if she could play, out of those waters? What sort of gift, would let her lift, up to the game? Betcha in the rift, they get the drift, that they appreciate their healers. Crowd controllers, supporting rollers, ready to sustain, and ready to help with Carry's job. Lock up the gankers and get some assists. What's a Baron, and how does it, what's the word? Buff! When's it enough? Wouldn't they love, love to play some support up above?

Out of the sea.

Wished she could be.

Part of that roll.

..tune in next time when I explain our champion creation process akin to how the mice put together Cinderella's dress.

You don't get it.

The point is that the last time a giant thread like this popped up he did take it seriously and posted at length engaging with people who take issue with the champion design, agreeing on many points, and promising Riot would do better in the future. You may not have read it, but that's what happened.

This time he did a complete 180 and just made fun of them, using an old troll tactic that originated on 4chan where you start a seemingly serious post and then devolve into song lyrics (it started out as the opening theme from Fresh Prince of Belair, but there are lots of variations). It's pretty amazing, whether you agree or disagree with OP, to see how completely disingenuous he was being when he posed as being sympathetic to this point of view.

OP and all those who agree with him in the community just got straight up trolled by IronStylus. Not just ordinary, run-of-the-mill trolled, a massive troll that took months of setup and was the culmination of at least 3 huge GD threads.

It's stunning.

Unlike you, I quoted your entire post. Nothing was taken out of context. Your insecurities show by the assumption that I was directly talking to you. Your post, if we are going to get specific, was drivel and contributed nothing to the conversation save a pandering for imaginary internet points from random people.

That said, this thread is still completely useless and IronStylus' posts were funny (and not in the spiteful way that insecure people have taken them). Besides, you can't blame a single thing on him because he no longer does new champions. He's on the Rework Team.

I can respect wanting to give a new artist freedom in design and acknowledging the importance of Nami's other attributes in regard to how she affects the game, but I'd love a meaty discussion in regard to why Elise and Nami look the way they do and your take on the perceived oversexualization and how it may or may not detract from their visual design.

,,,
I'm having a feeling I missed out on a reference in Iron's post that everyone else got.

The thing is...

Nami was drawn by a girl.

If a girl wants more boobs, can't we just accept the direction?

I did read it when that thread was active. And I took what he said to heart. Especially the stuff about champions being in the pipeline but not necessarily in the upcoming batches, because they're beyond the point of significant changes.

Which is the point you all CONTINUE to keep missing. The champs you want, the stylistic changes you're clamoring for, are coming. You're just being stupidly impatient and ignorant of the design process.

If I were IronStylus, I'd be making snarky comments aimed at you all, as well. He's probably tired of it and fed up with your crummy attitudes.

Did... did you actually read what you quoted?

Anyways, you know, you have to start somewhere. You can't insult a fat person for cutting one twinkie a day out of their diet - you can't say it's okay to eat doughnuts because you could be eating fried butter instead, and you cannot say that just because the rest of the feminine world is centered around being the perfect sexy woman it is okay for that to be the case here.

If there is a problem, you fix it, no matter how small. If we can't even be truly equal in our fantasies, how can we be equal in real life?
