I'll probably get banned eventually for not picking the supports my teams tell me to.

"OMG we told you not to pick Shaco we report you now" - Hell I even get that when I personally do good and top/mid feed like it's somehow my fault

...

Banned for being a jerk

I received a permaban for picking Support Eve as a Support (back when she was "trash").
Managed to get another account up to 1700. Did pretty well with her.
She was a fantastic Support, but holy **** this community -_-''

You need a TON of people to agree that your behavior is jerkish and punishable before you even come close to getting punished. That's a pretty potent barrier.

Not doing what your team wants has always been punishable, IN SOME CONTEXTS. Y'know, things like not picking the role the team needs, or not playing with the team, or doing something completely out of left field...IN SOME CONTEXTS. There was never a hard and fast rule saying emote spamming isn't punishable, and there is still no hard and fast rule saying emote spamming IS punishable. The rule has always been, if you intentionally piss off enough people, you'll end up in Tribunal. Judging the extent and intent of the antagonistic behavior has always been the point of Tribunal. That is the point that has been made over and over again. Yet the aforementioned rules lawyers take this as the construction of a rule regarding what is punishable, when the whole point is that Riot isn't gonna attempt to delineate the gray areas with rules. That's disingenuous.

I think this is hilarious, I spammed laugh in a few games and now I can get reported?
The problem is that some of us didnt use laugh to be a jerk, just to "taunt" our rival and get a easy kill.
For me this is sad, cuz I already got a 3 day ban for cursing (im improving my behavior now) and now probably if I got reported for spamming I would get a 7 day ban.

Most people in this game consider unintentionally feeding to be incredibly "jerkish".

You really think the amount of people that it takes to piss off is enough of a barrier? Our perspectives on how often someone reports is going to be different, but practically every game i'm in someone is reported (or said to be reported) because someone is pissed off.

How uncommon is it for someone to go pick master Yi as a support because he didn't get his roll, and then the adc reports him because the pick made the lane/game unwinnable?

It's amazing to me how so many of you are purposely being ignorant here and trying to be blind to the fact that this player was "being a jerk".

So many of you are so bent on arguing with the "authority" figure here that you fail to see the elephant in the room or make up silly arguments to state your case but are missing a key fact: intention.

This all comes down to intention. Don't pretend we don't know what the real intention is and stop asking "can I be banned for this?" Use your damn brain.
