Hey there! I know that PAX East is next year but I decided to make the costume for Halloween so it should be fun. I decided to make a somewhat step by step "How-to" thread on how I made my Nidalee costume. I'm not done with it yet so I'll be updating it time by time until it's finished.
Right now I'm about 30% done with my costume. Considering that this is my first cos-play I'm trying to make it as best as I can but not trying to stress myself out to much.
When they're fully finished drying I'm going to sand then and shape them to look more like teeth and then paint them a white-ish ivory color.
Moving onto the costume itself I've but out the front and back of the bottom of her outfit. I sketched a quick image on paper to make sure it looks close to the original in-game art. http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps26f99a5c.jpg
(It was just a sketch so it doesn't look so good but hopefully you get the point!)
After drawing the bottoms on to my scrap material I cut it out and checked to see if it looked right or not. http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps20f7e134.jpg
(I made one of them a bit smaller. The smaller one to be placed in the from and the bigger one to be placed in the back.)
For the top I found a design for a corset and just made shorter in length. I'm still working on it to fit me comfortably. After I tweak it a little and make it fit right I'm going to take the parts and trace them onto the fur material.
Well, I was going to start working on the rest of the bottom part to the costume but someone decided to rest on my working material -_____- so I guess I'll finish the rest tomorrow and update the forum then. I am kind of tired after all. xD http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps36910a23.jpg
I've been working on my spear in carpentry and here's some pictures of how I'm making it. I'm lucky enough to have material to be able to build my own spear by scratch! http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/x...r/IMG_0781.jpg
This is 4 pieces of wood that are glued to together to make the thickness of the spear head, after this is done drying I am going to start shaping it.
