Why is the attack speed capped at 2.5?

I think the cap is lowered than 2.5 for ranged carries because the shot particle has to hit before you can fire another shot.

It was mostly based on how hard it is on attack animations, especially early in the game's career, to manage 2.5 AS. Some champs had problems with even less AS. There is a reason they put a .5 second CD on cho's Void Spikes, you know.

would just be bad, very rarely will increasing AS from 2.5 to 3 be better than increasing AD instead, assuming her base AS is 1(not it is less), it would give her .55 per phantom dancer, so your build would be 4.3, would deal 8% every 3 attacks so 11%+800 dps mine would be 2.5 AS with larger crits and much higher damage and lifesteal, 6.5%+2000 dps
