Hello, fellow summoners. This is my first thread on LoL . Since October 6 I've had issues with an unwarranted ban. I've contacted Riot via "LoL support website" and we've gone back and forth over 10 times already about the bans.
My issue is still pending solution. I understand that DC's make gaming difficult for everyone and I've been subject to people idling and dc'ing during games (especially ranked). It makes winning the game difficult.
The Purpose of this thread is to ask for advice on what currently happened. I was banned for 7 days after having over 30 games (mostly wins) without leave (DC's) and pretty good stats and "honor" recognition. I feel trapped. My modem (internet) went down for 4 mins during a ranked game and I reconnected asap. Unfortunately my team loss and although I was not blamed (at least not when I came back), I do believe the disconnect contributed to the loss.
Look me up at "lolking.net" and see my results. I'm not the best player (as noted by low elo), but I am an honorable player. I'm saddened by the fact that I am unable to receive a solution to my problem and that the penalization is extreme. I could understand a constant afker/leaver receiving a 7 day ban but for ONE disconnect? Any advice would be helpful because I'm at a loss.
Note: With regard to the unwarranted ban, there were two games in which 7 to 8 people left after reconnecting about 10-11 times. My ping did not indicate a lag and because the team reconnecting several times during the game, we all decided to leave (Normal game). That also happened in the following game (6-7 leaves - basically the whole team had red names after match). After this match, I was prompted with a Ban.
1) Your stats have nothing to do with getting banned.
2) If you're looking for the answer to why you got banned, you need to check your email. It will be explained there. And if your email came with a reform card, please feel free to link it here so someone can explain to you why the Tribunal punished your behavior.
As for point one, you simultaneously don't get it and offer evidence proving my point.
You ask what good is a great score if one doesn't cooperate, etc. etc., and that's exactly my point. Your stats have nothing to do with getting banned. It doesn't matter if you go 50/0/50 in all of your matches. If your behavior in the matches violates the Summoner's Code, you will be banned. Bans are based on your behavior and have nothing to do with your kills, deaths, assists.
While you do make the point that someone is unlikely to both honor you and report you, it doesn't mean that some players will honor you while others report you. You could get honorable opponent from all 5 opponents, and even a teamwork from one or two teammates, but if you were griping at the other two teammates the whole match, they're probably going to report you. Being honored by more people than you're reported by doesn't mean you won't show up in the Tribunal.
As for point two, you're being far from clear.
If you have been banned, you will have received an email explaining why you were banned. Whether by Tribunal, for AFK, or for other reason, it will be explained in your email. But as to my confusion... do YOU know why you have been banned? In your original post, you reference AFK and DC a lot, but you never state that this is the reason you were banned. And that explains my post a lot. If you haven't been AFKing or DCing, there are other reasons you could be banned.
If you got an email and it explained that AFK/DC is the reason you were banned, then that's what it is...
The thing is though, all you say is that you have issues with an "unwarranted ban," but you never state in this thread what reason RIOT gave for the ban. All you say is that the ban is unwarranted. No one on the forums can assist you in any capacity if all you want to do is tell us your side of the story and completely ignore Riot's side of the story.
I think you're all missing the point.
It is not about what gave Maritine the ban, but the penalty for what Maritine did.
Maritine is pointing out that a short DC due a modem problem is not something that should be penalized with a 7 day ban even though Maritine tried to be a team player afterwards.
Secondly the fact that Maritine can't even get a hold of a Riot worker is what could be frustrating.
Sure, a ban is given because of a DC even if it wasn't intentionally. But 7 days for a DC that wasn't the entire game and recognizing the reason of a loss?
1) Maritine has not said what the ban was for.
2) He has been contacted by Riot. They have emailed him.
3) You don't get punished for a singular game for basically any offenses.
4) Ban length is almost always determined by previous punishments (and you'd have had emails about these previous punishments as well).
5) In cases where ban length isn't determined by previous punishments, it's a scenario where Riot has gone through and done a widespread banning of a lot of people for something that hasn't been really fully addressed up to the current point. If this is the case, there'd again, be a special email explaining this.
The point of my posts is that Maritine hasn't explicitly stated what he's been banned for, and even when I suggest he look at his email for more information on his ban, he instead tells me about what happens when he goes through the support page.
The fact of the matter is, Maritine needs to go check his email. Period.
Exactly what I though. You see... you're making this post because you're lost and want others to hear you to satisfy your frustrations but two people have already asked you to copy-paste the mail you received right after your ban. It would most likely contain the reason and that will help us understand even more.
