Academically, you'll learn that feminism occurred in three different waves.

The first wave was about women going to work and doing jobs that had formerly been perceived as 'manly'. This is where Rosie the Riveter came from. You know, World War II.

From 1960-to-1990 the second wave of feminism was about civil rights. Most notably, rights regarding birth and sexuality. It started with a protest of a Miss America pageant, where the activists argued that the women were being degraded and paraded around like cattle.

The third wave of feminism happened right after 1990. It identifies itself with low-cut tops, thick lipstick, makeup, high heel shoes, and expensive jewelry -- things which had been considered indicators of "male oppression" by the thinkers of feminism's second wave. If you recall, the Spice Girls were around at that time and were chanting their "Girl Power" thing. It was all very popular. The third wave of feminism was an acknowledgement that women can be sexy without also being brainless or oppressed.

The problem here is that you're just a second wave feminist. To a third wave feminist, the fact that you perceive a problem with the pervasive "sexiness" of female champions in this videogame could be considered highly offensive.
The thing you're missing is that third wave feminism makes it clear that being sexy and sexual is the choice of the woman. A LoL character does not choose anything, they are the product of an artist. The so-called **** walks (which I am not alone in thinking is a very poor choice of name and not really effective at getting their point across) are a product of third wave feminism, with the objective of women claiming ownership of their sexuality and stating that their choices are not an advertisement that they are sexually available (unless they choose to be). It sends mixed messages, but the fundamental goal is correct.

Third wave feminism is not an excuse to objectify women.

I have to disagree completely.

People have different views about what is attractive and what isn't. Some guys like the stereotypical busty frames, including a large chest and butt with tiny waist. Some guys don't. Some girls love the muscular men, some don't. Some girls like skinny boys, some prefer heftier men. It's Riot's decision to decide what their character should look like, who it should appeal to, and why it fits their character or theme of the champion. Some champions have more skins that have *** appeal because their character has a personality that would would be recognizable. You're not going to give Leona a metal lingerie outfit, nor do you see Karma using slang or seducing voicing. It would clash on the character.

It's a fantasy game and it really let's the artist do what they please.

About the over sexualization of female and none for male.I can only think of 2 that are overly sexualized: Battle Bunny Riven and French Maid Nidalee. These two were also designs that were requested and upvoted so much that Riot thought it would be nice to make it a reality.

I don't think the characters looks are the issues, whether it be male or female. I have a ton of female friends that play League of Legends daily that don't ever complain about the visuals of men. If you're playing League of Legends for the visuals, then you should be using a different medium to relieve yourself.

The main reason women don't play this game and why the community is often against females playing is due to how women flaunt their status. Many women use their feminist qualities to garner views on their streams and get carried through the ELO ladder. Others use it as a way to always get attention and act like they are important because they know women, especially those more attractive than usual, are not common in games. The sensible men will stay strong and not succumb to such trickery from women, but most men just see boobs and are instantly "whiteknighting" the girls and it's just sickening to see men do it.

I know there are legit girl gamers out there who don't flaunt their feminine features, and I applaud you for playing the game for that: the game. Not the attention or power it brings to you.

That is the main reason women are often turned away. Hostility from men who hate how girls abuse their features to bring some sort of unique selfworth. Not because Garen isn't spinning around shirtless with a Chippendale speedo.

Men in REAL LIFE fought naked on battlefields. There is REAL LIFE precedent for nudity in combat.

Polybius describes how the Gaesatae fought at the front, and unlike their Gallic allies who fought in trousers and light cloaks, they went into battle naked, both because of their great confidence and their desire not to get their clothes caught in the brambles.[7] Diodorus Siculus also reports that some Gauls fought naked, trusting in the protection of nature.[8] The appearance of these well-built naked warriors, and the noise of their trumpets and war-cries, intimidated the Romans, but their small shields offered little protection against Roman javelins, and the Gaesatae were driven back and their allies slaughtered.[9] Concolitanus was captured. AneroŽstes escaped with a few followers and took his own life.[10] In 222 BC the Gaesatae were hired again, but the Gallic forces were defeated by the Roman cavalry at Clastidium in the territory of the Insubres.[11]
So its not fair for people to portray females naked, but its totally cool to portray naked men?

Gotta love sexism.

And then later on they realized that was probably a really stupid idea.

I know four female gamers in person. They all play Sona because she's hot and has big ****. No joke.

If the Gauls beat the Romans (and they DID in many fights) would it still be stupid?

If a team with a Janna beats a team with a Karma, is her clothing still stupid?

My point is that there is ample precedent for nudity in fighting. And League is a FANTASY game. If scantily clad women (and men!) help people lose themselves and enjoy the game, who cares?

I for one like seeing an attractive woman, in gaming or in real life. If I like League more because of it, whose to tell me I'm wrong?

As a black person I just can't take any of these threads seriously.

Oh, and just because Lee Sin, Tryndamere, Twisted Fate, etc aren't your "type" means jack shiitake mushrooms.

I bet someone already posted this, but I'll still post it.

OP doesn't even consider Fiora, Akali, and Katarina's job/what they always do. Fiora, as a duelist, needs a skintight clothes because she is forced to move as fluent and flexible as possible in any fights. Akali is a ninja. Wearing a heavy armor hinders her from being mobile, so does wearing clothing that covers her whole body, because every miligram of weight counts as a ninja. Katarina is an assassin that spins, don't you think wearing a proper clothing would make her less of an assassin? She needs special clothing that allows her to move freely, hence her default skin.

Riven's Battle Bunny existed because community asked for it, so don't blame Riot on it. Now, if you ask Riot for an oversexualized male skin, and it gains as much popularity as Battle Bunny Riven, maybe Riot will make it.

Last thing, we guys/males/boys/men get attracted over visualization, hence the many oversexualized female characters in almost all games, it's basically the easiest way to satisfy male community. On the other hand, female/girls/women get attracted over hearing/sound, and it is very hard to actually attract female community to play games, because games are all about visual, hearing just helps it. Why do you think One Direction/Justin Bieber are so famous to girls, but Beyonce/Shakira/Carly Rae Jepsen/any other sexy/cute/pretty female singers are not as famous to boys?

Mah two cents.

A friend of mine and I have taken out all the female splash art so that we can show the loading screen to friends and family without insulting them....
