ppl saw lots of rengars during the first week or two and his free week... these rengars probably didnt know how to play him correctly or how to build him, and then they couldnt do anything.

this created the illusion that rengar was a terrible champion. if you play him the right way he is one of the bests champions there is, if you dont: he is one of the worsts.

now ppl who owned him got more skilled and started to play again just to check the changes. since they are much better rengar players now, they own every noob who doesnt know how to shut rengar down.

this is why you have an illusion that rengar was terrible, and an illusion that a 50 dmg buff made him impossible to deal with.
the champion was always great, and he is still the same. its players just got better.

No.

Any champion who is OP in the hands of a pro player and UP in the hands of everyone else is a poorly designed champion. This was the problem with old Katarina. Players in the 2100+ ELOs would dominate every game with her, while everyone else found her to be a really awful champion. They heard the call and buffed her, so she became viable again. Not OP, but viable in more situations than top ELO.

she was not buffed, she was remade.

and ofc champions should work well if you know how to play him or bad if you dont... otherwise what is the difference between a 2k elo player and a lvl 1 summoner? if a champion works the same for pro players and awefull players... there is just no reward in being a pro player.

riot actually buffed q dmg, that made a huge differance how much dmg he does, and ho wmuch he can contribute to the team fight. adc having 100 hp left and 400 hp left is a big gap. again rengar was not a trash top before the buff he was viable
but riot made it so he becomes op for some reason, people did not know hwo to build him because his q did not do much dmg before so they went ap rengar, now riot reduced the ap ratio and increased ad ratio on q, they "thought" this will balanced the op ap rengar build, but what really happened was people found out, this q does 1k dmg with only 220 ad build on him. so late game he can mostly shut down any adc or caster as he please.

The reason why Rengar went from trash to top is not the buff in his Q.

It was because pre-buff Rengar was extremely buggy, his leap used to mis-target, with W caused him to stop attacking, and half his Q's attack speed bonus was wasted because it doesn't take effect until his second auto-attack.

Suddenly, by making his Leap smooth and reliable (and boy, is it powerful now), his W to be cast while moving etc. He's a really tough nut to deal with.

Even if they didn't buff his Q, Post-Buff Rengar is still a massive improvement over the rather weak Pre-Buff Rengar.

Also, like Darius, Rengar is only OP if you don't know how to deal with him.

you cant deal with a jungle rengar, if he is good. he has crazy kill potential, ward cant help caz of his ult.

you seem to think rengar always has his ult up in the jungle. Thats stupid, it only lasts for a few seconds, it is used to chase a runner or initiate from outside of a bush, it isn't used to run around the jungle with just in case there is a ward.

The same can be said about practically every champion in the game.

His Ultimate isn't always up, and when it is, I find that knowing the enemy Jungler has a long duration stealth is more than an enough reason to buy PINK WARDS.

i just meant that smart rengar dont run into wards he can use his ult to dodge warded area and sneak into gank, his ult last 6 second or something right?
that is plenty time i think. but u know maybe you only saw a bad rengar i saw some crazy good one. you cant do much against him.
